Post Help dying TL

My tranny is going crazy. When I drive it "jumps" when the tranny shifts to 2nd and when I reverse I takes about 1 min to engage. I’m taking it to the dealer tomorrow, but I need advice if anyone had similar experiences and warranty info. Also I drive in D5.

2001 3.2 TL
25583 mi

(Sorry for posting in 3Gen I just need advice ASAP)

the 2nd gen TL tranny problem is well documented and has lots of problems. take it back to get it replaced if you plan on keeping the car. otherwise trade it in for an 04. if this has happened more than once on this tranny then try to lemon law the car.

You posted it on the Third Gen Forum... 2nd gen tranny problems well known, 3rd gen seems to have clean tranny record thus far. ur post raised a "oh sh*t not again" flag for me, before realizing that its a 01 TL in question.

Acura should replace ur tranny under warranty till 100K miles

Soory to hear that. The swap takes one day. You should be fine after that. I have heard of occasional double swaps. I had my TL S for 36K and never had any problems. I believe the 2nd gen tranny problems are affecting about 5% of vehicles per year. Honda has put an extended warranty (100K) on them so I wouldnt worry too much.
