$21k isn't a bad price for the '07, but what is the dealer giving you for the '05? The bottom line is what counts along with any warranty, CPO?

makes sense 07>05 lol ... on a serious note, OPs 05 is probably getting old and he wants to stay in the 3g fam instead of moving to the 4g fam, so i think he is doing the right thing

An 05 base to an 07 base isn't worth taking the financial hit. Even more so if the 07 isn't a CPO, the car only has 5k miles of warranty left, and might be out of warranty based on time depending on when it was purchased.

Why make the trade. If I were in your situation, I would just do the navi conversion. I did it and I like my car 1000x better now. Can you explain why you want to make this trade??

If that is the base TL, it's not worth it. If it's a Type S, then maybe.

Your TL is 97 percent of what the Type S would be. I would save up and trade in for the more refined 4G TL if you still want one.

Well my 05 has got 82,000 miles on it and is a non-navi I like the look and feel of the navi but wasnt sure how much the conversion would cost : / also I still have the extended warranty on mine for another 18k miles. Just wanted to get some others input.

navi conversion is in the ballpark of 1800 to 2000 .... if you know a guy. just go get a type s, you wont regret it. going from base to base just isnt worth it IMHO

cause the 4g is fugly? Looks like a batmobile with a messed up rear. lol.

Like everyone says. Base to Base is not even worth it. I have an 06 that I cashed out and even I was thinking at one point to jump to the 08 type s but I don't want to get ripped into another payment. I'll stick it out with my car till a new love comes along again. Hopefully acura gets their heads out of their asses and redo the body style of the tl's real soon. Then i'll trade it in.

It looks like you're trying to get into a newer car, but you like your 3G so you want the same car (plus Navi this time). Perhaps you also want a different color. While I personally wouldn't bother, I certainly think that it makes a lot of sense. I'm not sure why everyone is giving you a hard time.

... But if you're going to make this move, why not get into a 2008 and/or less miles so that it's really worth the financial cost?

Also, everyone on here always says, get the Type-S. You should certainly consider it, but perhaps you'll find you prefer the base. I don't think the Type-S is for everyone. Not everyone wants a bigger engine and may not care for the other upgrades. You should also consider A-spec.

If you're going to make this move, make sure you get exactly the 3G TL you really want. Take your time finding the perfect one.

Don't see a point in selling the 05 for the stock 07. I dont think the dealer is gonna pay more than 13K for the 05 more like 10K. I would only see a point if the 05 to 07 swap cost less than 5K. I'm a little bias when it comes to car payments as I don't believe in monthly payments over $300/month. Heck, if I can't buy the car outright with cash, I can't afford it to begin with.

why not just drive your car until the warranty expires, in the mean time save your money towards the upgrade. You car will not go down that much in value when it hits 100K.
