Help in choosing a 3G
That's pretty good. Calipers or rotors? Rotors will rust due to nonuse, that will go away. I'm almost positive the calipers are aluminum and won't rust. In other words don't be concerned about rust on the rotors, that is very common especially in a moist climate. Guess you have a choice to make, 10 grand more for an Accord with the warranty or a sexy as hell TL with 27K miles for a lot less.

The rotors and hubs rust, fact of life, they are carbon steel. Whatever was on the calipers can't be rust, aluminum doesn't rust, it will corrode but not in the short run. My TL is 6+ tears old, hubs and rotors have rusted, calipers are fine and show no corrosion but I do power wash them occasionally using Sonax wheel cleaner first to get the brake dust cleaned.
I'm toying with the idea of parting with my 07 TL Type S w 57k miles. I am the original owner, bought new. I was taking offers at $21k+. Getting back on this site is making me more nostalgic and making me think twice about selling it. But if you're deciding between Type S or Base, of course I'm going to be biased and say Type S. You can mod the base to look like a Type S. But it's just not the same. The 2 tone leather, black/grey combo is one of the sickest to date imo. I wake up everyday thinking that was the best decision of my life in 2007, hahaha.
I'm still trying to figure out if I want to get the 3G. Lately I have been looking at the 4g for only 10k more with low mileage and warranty still active. Obviously I love the 3G TL the best but the 4g is growing on me, and the SH-AWD and interior upgrade may be worth it to me . Either way , I am definitely buying a TL, just haven't figured out if it will be 3G or 4g yet. Thx to everyone for all the responses, and if I do buy the 3G it will be a type s
I was at the dealership yesterday and looking at a 4G, I do like them (actually didn't when they first came out), but I'm still a huge fan of the 3G. For the money savings, I'd still tell you to get the 27,000 mile 07, save a lot of money, and just put in a Bluetooth module (for streaming audio). Then you have a car you can drive for the next 10+ years and it didn't cost a fortune.
