i received my AEM CAI today, how can i tell if it was used or brand new. The AEM sticker that is on the Intake look really weird like they didn't put it on right and the inside of the inatke at both ends have mark and scratches. I bought it off ebay and it said Brand new.

if an item was purchased off ebay... and the item had scratches and doesnt look new.. chances are it isnt new. Thats the world of fleabay

 

ebay = scambay

 

you pay for what you get. You went the cheap route and bought something from fleabay and thats what happens.

Deal with a company and you have better chances of returns and exchanges.

the sticker on mine wasn't where it should be either. It should come with a plastic bag sleeve over the pipe. How does the filter look, is it clean, does the box specify that it is the dry filter, the new ones are, can you see where the hose clamp might have been applied to the rubber on the filter?
Also it should have come with two rubber hoses that are about 1 foot long, if they are shorter they have been cut.

 

the hose, clamps, look new, the inlet pipe itself does not. On both ends of the inlet pipe on the inside there are marks and scratches. anyone have a close up pictures of their AEM CAI.

if you mean the scratches are on the inside of the tube, the coating isn't on the inside(if I remember correctly) and mine looked bad also.

 

yes the scratches is from the inside.
