Hello to all

Hello from the Garden State!

My wife is MAKING?! me upgrade from our 08 accord 4 cylinder base model to a leather v6 accord. However I have been doing a little research into the 07 or 08 tl and find it very intriguing. I would like to hear the differences/opinions everyone has about the 07 vs. 08. I am staying away from an 09 model to try and save a little money at least. Thanks for any help in advance.

JJ from NJ

There is really no difference between the 07 and 08 model TL. If there is, it's very little. Welcome to AZ Good luck with your search.

I actually went from a 2008 Accord V6 Coupe to my current 2007 TL Type S. The price tag on the brand new Accord was almost exactly the same as the used Type S.

To compare the 2, I say both are great cars and very comfortable to drive. Performance wise I say they're comparable b/c that new Accord V6 has plenty of power, which is easily comparable to the base TL. The Type-S gets the edge though.

My MPG is exactly the same in the TL as it was in the Accord. That confuses me since the Accord has that VCM technology going, but my average was/is 21-22 MPG in both. I haven't taken the TL on a road trip, but I got 29 MPG in the Accord.

Other than the obvious styling edge (inside and out) that the TL gets, the most noticeable difference for me is the road noise. The Accord's amount of road noise was ridiculous, while the TL still has some, but much less. The Accord was so bad that using a bluetooth headset wasn't an option.

Hope that helps

Steer the wife towards the TL-Type S if she'll go for it. You guys will love it.
