Hello!!!!

Hello fellow Acura enthusiasts. I am a new owner (3 months now) of a Silver 05 Acura TL. I want to say that it's been a dream of mine to own an Acura since I love Honda's more than any other Japanese Car Manufacturer. And might I say, I'm in love with the car.

Plans for now are to keep it the way I have it, or the way I received it.

Name or Screen Name: Sogellagepul
Country/State/City of purchase: CA
Last 5 digit of Vin: 44120
Color Ext/Int: Satin Silver Metallic / Quartz
Month/Yr of purchase: Dec 2010
Price paid before tax/lic (including factory installed mods): $15,000
Model Yr of TL: 05
Transmission: 5AT
Navi/Non-Navi: Navi

Additional mods installed: (list modification made and cost of this mod)
Bentchi Wheels
Wanli Tires
Viper Remote Start

Funny thing, I didnt know it came with remote start til when I actually got the keys. They didnt tell me. Lol

Here's some pics:

I also want to add that I am not a fan of the newer generation TL's. They look awful to me.

3rd Gen all the way .

Welcome and congrats on the purchase.

IMHO, those wheels do not go well with your car. Wheels are one of the deciding factors that either makes a car look good, or bad. In this case, it's making your car look bad. You should definitely look into changing them in the near future. Trust me, there are many wheels to choose from out there that will look a lot better than those and not break the bank.

But besides that, sweet looking ride and nice choice to go with the TL. It's an amazing car.

congrats on the new ride

Looks great besides the wheels and ESP the tires! Wanli Tires are cheaper chinese knock-offs of more popular tread designs. Many folks have said that they may be cheap upfront, but they are horrible down the road. Do yourself and your family a favor and get a good set of reputable tires from tirerack.com.

Yes I know, but thats the way the car came. I am planning to change it all up sometime in the future though, and I will post the progress here. This is definitely a car I plan on keeping on and upgrading.

Good thing I dont have a family lol. I know all about the tires, but thats how the car came when I got it. It was the cheapest TL I could find around here which is why I bought it as is.

They're alright, not what I prefer but I'm not complaining. I might go with some racing rims with a chrome finish though.

I actually plan on changing the color to some sort of red. Maybe metallic with some gold pinstripes. Also plan on changing the interior with some tan interior. Not sure about wheel color yet. Any thoughts on something that might work with the color scheme I'm going for?

Cross the tan interior. Black and red interior with gold outlining sounds better.

Whose hating or bashing? It's called constructive criticism. He posted up his car for us to see, and we give an opinion on it. Most of us would agree that once he changes out his wheels, the car will look much better. It already looks good, but the wheels are just not working.

I swear I couldn't find one within a 100 mile radius. I wasn't looking for one any further either. I'm not going to "Rice it out", just want the color that I prefer. It's between red and black.

Your fail-safe options: stock 05 TL wheels, TL-S wheels or A-Spec wheels.

Alright, I figured a better color scheme. Black and Silver. I'll save the red for when I get my mustang.

Enjoy your new ride. I'm trying to dig mine out of the snow.

I'm not sure I understand your logic though. You "found the cheapest one" and now you're going to get new wheels, new tires and a complete paint job? For what that is going to cost, assuming you're not taking it to Earl Shibe if they still exist, you could have bought a much more expensive and possibly nicer specimen.

What am I missing?

Idk what you're missing. My plan was to buy the car and modify it, thus I went for the cheapest one. Plus it was the pain in the ass to find an Acura out here. Atleast a decent one thats not all beat up.

Definitely not feeling the wheels like all the other guys but at least you feel the same way. Check your local craigslist to see if someone is selling some stockers for cheap! You'd be surprised what you can find. Good luck and Welcome
