Heart Broken... is this repairable?

this is a crater i discovered today on my rear passenger rear roof/pillar. i thought it was from a fallen tree branch from yesterday, but from the picture i took, the tree branch was nowhere near that spot.

is this even repairable by PDR? anything i can buy to "suction" it out or pop it out?

Anything CAN BE fixed, looks like that's gonna cost a pretty penny.

Was it vandalism? If so use your comprehensive insurance.

From the pics I dont see why a paintless dent removal company couldnt pop that out.

Is the paint cracked at the channel?

That is gonna be a costly repair since it is part of the quarterpanel. If you look at that panel, I think it goes from the side mirror all the way to the whole quarterpanel. Meaning if they want to repair it, they will have to cut it out and then wield it back on.

Good luck with the repair, hopefully you know a shop that will give you a decent discount.

no offense to your DIY skills, but i think i would leave it to the professionals on a dent like that.

Send nspec_ya4 a PM, he's in PDR. If you're in TX maybe he can do it for you.

It might be cheaper to fly a pro in, but I appreciate you wanting to get your car fixed.

Most dealers have a traveling crew that comes through a couple of times a week to work on their stuff.

That sucks. I don't know in PDR will be perfect in that position but it will be better than what you have now. And a lot cheaper than a body shop.

I used to work in a body shop and from the looks of it the metal is most likely stretched from it being so deep. I don't believe a PDR will be able to take care of that. If there is frame behind the panel they won't be able to do it either. I believe there is frame behind that regardless.

Jeez I feel bad and it's not even my car! Best of luck to you.

so i went to a body shop for an estimate... $800-900 repair. not worth claiming through insurance...

i might just hold off the repair until spring, in case some other shit happens through the winter months.

I honestly don't think the PDR can fix that. I work at a dealer and the dent guy doesnt do anything that is unreachable from a panel. They usually drill a hole on the side door sill to put the tool in and massage a dent. I dont know where an access point would be for that kind of dent

that panel will not get cut out the dent is so small that no body shop in their right mind will dare cut the quarter out... On another note it is probably going to cost a pretty penny if done right as its on the struture of the unibody, meaning that, that medal there is usually thicker as the part of the main frame... Kinda hard to explain it unless that other person knows what you mean. and NO a suction cup crap will not work!!!

I have a similar dent from a tree branch, mine is a little more forward than yours, about midway of the rear door, interested to see what you find out, taking mine to get appraised tomorrow.
