Headlights!

i'm looking into clearing them, as well as going angel eyes.

i kinda am tempted to DIY the clearing, but is it worth it to risk it?

and for the angel eyes, is there a shop in LAS VEGAS or HENDERSON Nevada that is reasonable and reliable?

tried searching but didn't find much, not too many AZiners in LV. all input is welcome!

I'm going to leave this open since the OP searched, but try PM'ing JnC to see if he can recommend someone or do it himself.

Well, you want to do the Angel Eyes at the same time as the clearing - that way you only have to open the light 1 time.

So regardless of whether you do DIY, group buy or local shop, you want to do everything at once.

pretty easy... search for the DIY threads.... i personally used a heat gun.... and clearing is a matter of taking offthe amber lense... just be careful not to break the chrome piece... but then there's always super glue!

well from personal experience i would say its not that hard. to me the only part that was hard was trying not to get the melted silicone on the chrome pieces inside the headlights. But go ahead and try it and you'll see its not hard or if i can just buy an extra pair and try it on them

Do you think that using a heat gun works as effectively as putting it in the oven? Thats the part that I'm uncomfortable with... sticking my headlights in the oven.

It's probably not as "efficiant" as you have to heat the seals up manually with the gun rather than putting the light in the oven.

But - you do keep control over the heating. There have been many here that have burned their lights by letting them touch the side of the stove, using too much heat, or putting them in too long. With the heat gun - you quit pulling the trigger.

i'm iffy on doing it myself .. the oven is just ehhhhh idk haha. but besides that, i wanna get angel eyes, so i'd only like to open them up once, is there a place that will be able to do it for me? personally, i don't have much luck with electrical work haha

i'm anxious to get these cleared too! i'm tempted to just clear now, worry about the other stuff later, but if i'm opening them up i figured i might as well...

JnC Groupbuy sounds like the place for you.

I could be wrong, but I believe JNC will do that for you too if you supply the parts...

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Clear 'em, body color match 'em, Angel Eyes, whatever - JnC will do it all at once and send 'em back ready to install.

Maybe PM JnC to see how "plug and play" the returned lights are with Angel Eyes are. Not sure how the connections and/or installation of the ballasts will work - I guess thats the part you'd have to do.

I'd think if the lights are ready to go (Cleared, Angel Eyes, etc) and you've got the ballasts, a competent components shop (Custom audio/video, Lighting, etc) could do the final connections and install pretty easily.

read the tutorials, watch the tutorials, pick a weekend and do it yourself. You not only learn a lot about your car, but will get a sense of satisfaction knowing you did it yourself. Also it isn't hard... at all. Just time consuming.
