Headlight lightbulbs

If i want to change my light bulbs color from 4300k to 8k. Can i just changed the bulb? or do i need to change the ballast? Can someone please tell me what size bulbs the 04 TL uses?

8000k? You rice???

Just buy some Osram CBI if you want a good balance of color and lightout put. No you do not have to swap ballast. You need D2S bulbs.

D2S bulbs only needed for swap. Like azianboy said...get CBI's or at max go 6000k bulbs. 8K is too blue and you loose light output. I switched from 8K back to 6K and now im satisfied. But i see some CBI's in my future

You can, but it looks cheap, and puts out less light. Cheap D2S bulbs are $10 all over ebay, OEM's are usually $100+ a pair. You'd be better served doing a lens swap and having a bluer cutoff than throwing a bluer bulb in.

Do 6000k max, trust me.

Also, you don't have to change the ballasts, only the bulb.

Osram CBIs if you want a nice white plus potent output

You need D2S style HID bulbs and no you do not need to change OEM ballasts/ignitors.

Put in a set of the CBIs this weekend. They cost a nice penny, but what a difference! Totally satisfied!

Any pics? My stock ones are getting tired and I'm thinking about them or the Philips 85122+, I think the CBI's are the only ones that put out equal light while being whiter.
