Headlight covers

Hey guys, so I was wondering if highlight covers were a good idea? I found these on ebay for a really good price and was wondering if anyone else uses them.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ACURA...Q5fAccessories

Give me some feedback on whether if I should do it or not.

If you want seriously decreased visibility at night and a reason to be pulled over...........then go for it. but, you can always trim it so it doesnt decrease your headlight output

My car is white. I was told that the covers don't decrease the visibility of the light. I'm assuming it does by your statement, pohljm?

I had those and they do reduce light .. and if you cut them back so they don't then you have issues with them coming loose .. especially in the rain.

Now I have the blue batmobile ones.

I looked up these and they cover the whole thing. This says you still get 90% visible light. Anyone tried them?

Also, can anyone tell me if the stock bulbs on the TL are high density? If not, where's the best place to buy them?

Jesstzn, how do you like the blue batmobile ones? Were they easy to install and work good?

Not trying to sound like a dick...but blacked out headlights would like miles and miles better than headlight tint.

Pretty easy with a hair dryer or heat gun ... I had a scratch in one so I replaced them and the removal took just a coupl min.

I agree with djflex.. When I bought my car I smoked the headlights out with VHT Nightshadez.. and I regret it. I eventually pulled them apart and did a "true" smoke job on them. I would stay away from the tint junk, IMO you'll eventually take them off and want them blacked out on the inside.

I understand that but I'm not looking to throw $200 in the headlights. That's a bit out of my price range.

Is it better to have the lights sprayed or are the tint inserts okay? Easy to install? Thx

if you have tints, trust me, cut them like me and jesstzn's tints, how BBM did them, you will not like the reduced ligth

you can black them out yourself, if you have teh balls, just take the heads out back em and do soem work inside, actually not that hard

my thoughts, which mean little, is that tint looks best with dark cars and the rest really need to spend the cash to change the color from the inside. now i think all colors can really benefit from the all out clearing/paint match/blacking out of the headlights, but the tint from what i have seen really looks best on black cars, especially mine

but if you really want to, and i in no way want to stop you, i would go with the pre-cut tints that only cover the turn signals.

That's not true. White TL's look very good with tinted head/tail lights. It makes them stand out more, trust me.

i am not saying it looks bad, i like the light and dark combo a lot, but i think tint looks more like "tint" in a bad way when its on lighter colored vehicles. it stands out more as an applied surface rather than looking like the car was just made to look that good. i think they flow the best with black and i may not have applied mine if i didnt have a black car. but i say go for it...i was just sharing my opinion, thats all

I had the blue Lamin-X tint on my TSX's headlights and they looked great! Protects them too from rocks and such. No problem with light output either.

Here's a few pics:

My headlights were like this for almost a year:

Then I finally blacked them out:

Which do I like better? Of course blacked out. If you are looking for a cheap alternative, the tint is the way to go. It's cheap and easy to apply. Will I ever tint anything else on my car besides my windows ever again? No. Just take your time and do your headlights yourself, or save up and have them done. They are worth it.

How did you make the side markers black? Did you use tint or paint?

Nooooooo....the Blue Batmobile 1/2 tints are only $20.00, not $200.00. I had them too-before I put the LED's (Audi style) in my headlights. But on a silver TL, I liked them, especially since my windows were tinted. It kept the dark look going throughout....

Blue Bat also has tints for the sidemarkers as well.

When I said $200 I meant for blacking out the headlights by JVC.
