Headlight Clearing

I want to clear my headlights but they won't fit in my shrinky dink oven! wtf?! I have done this before to my Legend, I did a projector mod for that, so I know how the operation works. My question... Do you think I can use a heat gun effectively to remove the lens or would I be wasting my time? Any other ideas?

Also, since I bought my TL there hasn't been a light on the shift indicators in the console. I feel like there should be a light there, should there be? How the hell do I replace that? I don't want to have to go back to the dealer for something like that, pima.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I have pulled apart headlights and tailights before using a heatgun, and blowdryer. It is do-able, but much easier if you use an oven. Try to head it up uniformly to avoid any breaking or cracking when you are taking it apart.

On your shift indicator issue, i would take the center console out, and check to see if there are any wires unplug, someone may have gone in there for some reason or another, and unplug a wire and forgot to plug it back in.

I had the same problem, small oven. Using a heat gun worked like a charm, is sure wasn't difficult.

Thanks mysterious.

Let me see how these come out and you can judge for yourself. I will let you know. Your car will be down for about 2 days, if not 3. Unless you get a new / used set of headlights to swap in.

Here are some pics from this adventure. Everything is painted and drying, assembly tomorrow.

this is where you have to remove the housing for the projector, it just pops out with the screwdriver, same goes for the other side.

I figured it out...

I hope some of these pics aren't too big. I forgot to rescale them upon upload.

These are from the build out.

this is where you have to pop the projector housing out from the main headlight

This is my legend GS that I traded in for my TL. I put a porsche bi-xenon retro in JDM one piecers. I loved this car. awesome.

The projector comes off that piece pretty easily, it's just four screws and it comes out. Then you can swap the lenses and have a nice time.

Some new pics. Installation begins soon. What do you guys think?

I wanted to keep some reflector as I do not need any unwanted attention from the popos.
