Having Issues

Hey everyone! I was wondering if someone could help me out. I had an '04 TL but I got in a wreck and she was totalled (rest in peace Keira). I'm now driving an '05 TL (Dominique) but I'm having some of the same issues I had with the '04. For one thing, the front passenger door panels as well as some of the dash panels vibrate and rattle a lot, no matter what speed I'm going. It's not a major thing, but it annoys the heck out of me. I just want to know if anyone else has had the same problem.
Also, I have a Motorola T730 phone which doesn't have Bluetooth on it, but I bought the DC600 Bluetooth attachment so that I can use the HFL. For some reason, it won't pair with the car but it must be sending out some signal because the car will say that pairing from the phone is not allowed. It's pretty frustrating.

I'd appreciate any help any of you could provide. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum

Sorry to know that your 04/05 TLs both have the similar issues.

The Bluetooth attachment or adapter won't work with HFL. They are only good for headset profile.

Have you asked your dealer to check rattle yet? They may be fixed by adding some insulation/foam or remove and re-assemble those parts. Does your glove box rattle, too?

Happy New Year.

Your out of luck with that phone. Simply buying the attachment does NOT add the required Bluetooth "headset" function to that phone. In short, it's not your car.... It's your phone lack of capabilities that's biting you on that one. As far as the rattles... I have only had one on my 04 and that was only VERY recently (last 2 weeks) and mostly due to the wheels being out of alingment. If it rattles... Take it to the dealership. They'll give you a loaner while they fix it.

1100k in my 05TL. no rattles to speak of. hopefully none for a long time. however, there was a rattle by the glove box the other day while driving out in the island. found out it was the stupid intro cd/dvd that came with the car.
glad you didnt get hurt in the accident. congrats on your new ride.

I think he's talking about vibration at idle. The ones you can feel in your door , floor etc.

If you open your driver door and put your hand at the top of the door you can really feel the engine vibration transmitted to the body panels.

When i just bought my car someone take place in the driver seat , the engine was running but we were at "P" and one of the first thing he noticed was the vibration feeling.

I had the same problem on my 2003 accord, i think it's a VTEC thing.

No rattles and/or vibration in my 2005 Acura TL w/Navi (almost 500 miles).
With regard to cell phones I've got a Sony-Ericsson T68i from eBay and it works wonders with HFL (pairing it up was a breeze).

Yep, the phone needs the "handsfree" profile and not just the "headset" profile. Apparently they are different, so your SOL with that adapter. I hope you kept teh receipt.

I hope that you get your rattles fixed. I've got a late '04 and don't have a single rattle. Either my car is OK, or I'm not as particular as some of you guys. I've got a pickup and I used to drive a jeep that about shook itself apart for my other cars. Perhaps I've been desensitized, but in the long run that's good because I'm enjoying my car and have no complaints other than no auto headlamps.

I'm a little under the influence of the coming new year, so perhaps in that spirit, your car issues can be resolved with a little weather stripping here and there.

Good luck and Happy New Year!!!!

haha that last smiley is funny.

My 04 TL has had rattles since 2000 miles (55,000 miles now) and the dealership's manager and tech told me flat out, "That is characteristic of Hondas." That made me feel great considering I spent $40,000 on this rattle box. They sent a Acura Rep out and all they did was say to put 3M Silicon spray on. I said, "I have to pay for this bottle and worry about it getting on my suits and shirts?" They ignored me and gave me a bottle. When it ran out, they said I'd have to buy all future ones. Needless to say, I won't be buying another Acura product ever again concidering I have been in Chevy's, Infiniti's, Lexus all with over 200,000 miles an no rattles.
