Has anyone received the "3" subcode yet, from the MID, for a transmission fluid change? If so, how many miles did you have?

The way the description of the "3" subcode is worded, it appears to be mileage controlled, so if severe conditions call for a change at 60,000 miles, I would guess that "normal" conditions would probably be at 90,000 or even 100,000 miles, or possibly at the spark plug recommended change mileage of 105,000 miles. I got the 105,000 mile figure from the ads that say no major scheduled maintenance is required for 105,000 miles.

I don't remember seeing anyone post that they had gone over 100,000 miles yet, so maybe no one has seen the "3" either.

I had an alignment and tire rebalancing in June ($130.62), and A3 service at the end of July($144.80), had some extras at that service). Because I have 30% oil life remaining, according to the MID, I expect to require another service within a few weeks.

That's well before 100k. Not sure why neuronbob's called for a transmission fluid change so soon, I know that the TL does not have an ATF life monitor.

Perhaps the "extras" he had at that service were in reference to the transmission fluid change? Guess I'll have to ask him.

That doesn't sound right to me, but if bob says it was an A3 I believe him, but I hope he verifies it here. I know bob has a "normal" style of driving, and if the MID used other factors beside miles, you would still have to really abuse the car to get the "3" at only 38K.

Maybe bob can check his repair order and verify that it actually had the transmission fluid changed.

Doesn't sound right to me either.

Items beside oil changes are not determine by operating conditions, but the intervals are proportional to the oil change intervals, which, from what I can tell, is around 6000 miles for Bob.

The TL does not have an ATF life monitor, so driving hard should not affect the interval unless it affected the oil change interval as well...

The MID subcode for the ATF change for me came at 66K
