http://www.ebay.com/itm/2004-2006-Ac...item2c78a2ab7c

I was wondering if any of you have tried or bought from this vendor before? Looking for feedback. My armrest looks like crap. The seller has other colors available as well.

I haven't but my is that the seller has a high feedback and a top rated seller's stamp, so $33 shipped seems worth a try versus OEM $173. However, I would be concern about the fitment, but you can always return it as the seller has a hassle free return policy, but you got to pay shipping.

here's the response I got:

Hello,

Thank you for your interest in our products. The color that we use is a color that Honda used thru 2008-12 which is called pearl ivory. I don't really know how close it is to OEM. Let us know if you have any other questions.

- autotrimming

Kaiii- good idea, I'll ask.

I got mine from Redline Goods- got it with the padding- excellent quality product. It's $54 on the website.

Personally, I'd get the Redline Goods one as the quality is definitely there.

Does your old one look bad because the cover is bad/cracked or is the padding shot?

I'm pretty sure they are the same. My son has an 04 and I have an 08 and they look identical to me.

Yes, I've seen a few of you, particularly with the ebony interior have good luck with redline but I have the camel interior and want to make sure if I get one either from redline or this company (in post one) that it is as close to the OEM color as possible.

I've seen the one picture on the redline website with the quartz (grey) interior with the armrest installed and to be quite honest, I do not think it looks all that good i.e. the color is off.

At any rate, I'm gonna order the camel swatch from redline for 15 bones to see how close it is in color to my interior. I'm still waiting to hear back from the ebay dude to see if he can send me a swatch of the pearl ivory. I really doubt that the pearl ivory will match my camel interior but who knows.

Both, it's flat and the padding is basically gone. It's also got some wear that is unsightly.

Is your interior ebony? I can see where the folks with the ebony interior will have success with redline. It's the other colors that I'm skeptical about.

No, I have the quartz interior- the Redline rest cover isn't an exact match for the leather seats in my car, but despite that, it still (to me) looks very good:

vs OEM:

It's always tough to get the colors to match exactly unless the leathers were made at the same time- it's probably they will be just a bit off. The minor mismatch doesn't bother me at all.

Here, I have matching brake lever cover and both pieces look a lot lighter because pic was taken at night - in the day with natural light, the pieces match quite well:

Thanks for posting your link since you have the camel interior as well. From the pics, it seems the camel in your armrest is a pretty decent match to the OEM color. How would you rate it comparison wise (i.e. color wise to the OEM)? I just don't want my armrest to be off. No offense to others that have done it but I just don't think I can deal with that color mismatch.

Here's a DIY from the garage, it takes about an hour labor. Very easy.

you noticed the fine print that said it is for the leather only. you have to re-cover your own armrest.

Now that I upgraded my steering wheel (thru Dallas Custom, not redline) I think a redline armrest will be next on my list.

Of course, it is a personal preference, I liked Redline because of the thicker padding. I can actually rest my arm on the nice cushioning.

I found a local auto upholstery store that did mine for $25 or $35 I think. They did great work and reused the same leather.

I just re-did mine with alcantara from redline.

I will say the foam that is included does not cover the sides, so I re-used some of the old foam I had for the sides of my arm rest. I had re-done it once using the DIY on the forums and jacked it up pretty good so needed to replace the leather.

Used 3M super 77 glue to tack the foam to the plastic arm rest and then I used more of the super 77 once I had the alcantara cover over it to wrap the sides down.

Quality is definitely really good and fit is great.

Not Nitrous haha

It's the parking mode switch for my laser interceptor, I have a laser jammer on the car for cop's laser guns.

Best part is they never know, it functions as a parking aid as well. There is another switch on the other side of the selector lever that turns the jammer on. It sounds an alert when a cop is hitting my car with his laser gun and tells me the model of gun that it's jamming. Once I hear that I slow down to the speed limit and flip the parking mode switch so my jammer stops jamming the cop's laser gun.

At that point the cop gets his reading and doesn't know any better, looks like I'm going the speed limit.

Best part is it's only illegal in a few states, and the state that I reside in is not one of them. So nothing a cop can do, even if I jam him all of the way to his gun and he gets jam codes, obviously he could stop and harass me which is why I turn it off once I'm driving the speed limit.

Here's a map of states where its illegal:

http://www.guysoflidar.com/usa-laser-jammer-laws.html

laser interceptor actually makes a kill switch now since its a steep fine in some of those states if you're caught with one on the car so it kills the firmware in the jammer CPU to make it non-functional if you're pulled over

Also have to stay up on firmware updates for the CPU, since the only way the jammer is able to jam the cop's gun is by knowing the way the gun interprets the signal that it sends out

It has a generic algorithm that it runs too if its a laser gun that isn't in its tables as well, I've had buses set it off before, sometimes the sun can set it off as well.

I think the only 2 that are any good are the blinder and the laser interceptor.

I think its a pretty steep fine in CA if they were to catch you with one on the car

So, an update. The vendor on ebay linked in the first post sent me a cover at their cost to see how it would look. I placed it on top of my existing arm rest. Obviously, the color is way off but let me tell you this piece is truly top notch. IMHO it is OEM or better quality. Seems like it might be a better match for those with the Parchment interior. From the seller's store, seems like they also sell this product in black or grey.
