Has anyone ever had this problem?
I was trying to show my friend the grip on my tires and I was taking left turn real hard on the freeway entrance. My traction control was kicking in and my maplights came on. Has anyone ever had their maplights come on when that happens?

it was like a 180 degree left turn. The tires were gripping good but the road was a bit rough. Was it my car protesting at me to stop lol?

The on/off maplight was implemented by Honda engineers to alert drivers that may have dozed off. The situational response is sensed by a loss of traction caused by uncontrolled vehicle operation. You know.. "Wake up, we're about to crash!".. lol..

LOL.
My radio shut off when I got very crossed up at 70mph. Had the music up loud, got run off the road into the gravel shoulder which slanted down, I was so sideways I had the wheel locked as far as it would go into the slide. I recovered just fine but my radio had been shut off. I wish there was a list somewhere of exactly what happens when yaw goes past a certain point, I mean if there are different responses for a different yaw rate. I know it's not g-force related because with my new tires, I can far exceed what it was capable of stock.
Off topic but I know a guy who regularly roadraces his Trans-Am. After putting on the slicks, he was contacted mid race by On-Star thinking he had been in an accident due to the g-forces. I believe it was a combo of a hard corner and hitting the inside bump that made it respond.

Dude, its not like I was out of control. I was just having some fun. Don't tell me you never sped above the limit or took a turn faster than normal on public roads?

Sorry, i leave that to my S14 on the track.
I know a guy who liked having fun like you, he used to drive a 03 TL-s, now he drives a 95 civic coupe that sounds like it is about to call it quits, where is the Tl you might ask?, junk yard, hit an oil spot on the street, from the car you could not see it, went side ways, hit the curve, fliped and took a bus stop bench with him, but hey, he was just having fun right?
good luck

The VSC, not you, was keeping you off the guard rail.
Agree, running an on ramp is something a lot of the guys do, but running it to the point where the VSC kicking in is just: DUH. It just suggests you have no clue as to the limits of the car.
Fun thing. At the BMW driving school in South Carolina (free if you take factory delivery there) one of the training exercises is to run a large wet down circular skid pad with your foot to the floor.
Once the car is up to speed & you have done a few laps the instructor pushes the button & cuts the VSC off. General result is 2 or 3 360 spins moving the car a hundred feet or so off your line.
Running into the VSC & holding it is not a very good plan for future life expectancy should HAL 9000 f**k up for even a split second. Nothing can ever go wrong, go wrong, go wrong.

The very fact that the VSC was comming on in a high speed, high G turn says you were very much out of control. ![Tomato](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tomato.gif)

The thing to remember is the large percentage of young guys with zero track experience here who have pretty much never driven anything other then "Nanny" cars can get in over their heads very quickly.
I have never had a chance to safely test the limits of the Acura VSC but will admit at this point in my life the BMW system is a better driver then I am.
Got my license in 1959 on a 3 on the tree & have had at least one MT ever since. The only times I will run with the VSC off on any car that has it is in snow or during a traffic light Grand Prix so I can slip the wheels a little without Nanny shutting down the power, sometimes its hard to grow up.
