Hard acceleration with EL42's
Has anyone else experienced this? I had to merge into a highspeed road from an entrance ramp. First gear was fine, but when I shifted to second and nailed it, the car went into fantasy land. The torque steer was excessive, the tires seemed to be on ice, and the poor VSA system was doing everything it could to keep the car in a straight line. I was litterly all over the road. The main problem seemed to be the tires. Just wouldn't grip. The raod was dry so I didn't expect this. Anyone else?

If you truely "nailed it" anything is possible w/that engine-tire-front drive combo. Wouldn't have had that problem w/a lux-o-boat 66 Olds (you'd have survived the crash too). Maybe your tires aren't skuffed up enough to really grab. Don't have the 6M, but still anxious to get it beyond 600M and have some fun merging in DC.

Yep, truly nailed it. 1600 miles so I think the tires are broken in. Just poor perfomance from a "performance" tire. Switching to the Michelins, my expence, to prevent a large bill from the body shop.
