Happy new owner 08 TL-S
I recently purchased a certified used 2008 TL-S from my local dealer. I initially went there to look for a base TL or TSX. But once I saw the one and only Type-S they had, I told myself I had to have it. It was sooo sexy and made me do the double look. It was like a girl that you like in high school; she currently has a boyfriend(dealer), everybody wants her, so it was my goal to find a way to take her and make her my new girl.
It was a Friday morning. I asked for the keys and told them I would be back Saturday with an offer, or tell them I wasn't interested. The rest of the day Friday and into Saturday morning, I fell in love that quick. I called my salesperson Saturday and said I would bring it back Sunday instead. He then surprisingly told me I could bring it back Monday.
By the time Monday came around, I had removed all the stickers they put on to advertise the car to include the buyers guide. When I returned Monday, my salesperson saw the missing stickers along with my smile and then asked, "will you be trading anything in?" The rest is history.

You have to host the pics someplace like photobucket and then paste the link in the thread.
Congrats on the TL-S. The Type-S is a sweet ride. Register your TL at www.myacura.com. Save your Navi and Radio codes there. Welcome to AZ

they let me keep my car over the weekend as well.
its a selling point. car buying is emotional. when you take it home for 3 days, you get attached to it. its called a pre-close. on monday its a done deal.

Thanks everybody. I'll get some pics up soon.
1st question. What should be my first mod? My car is completely stock.
Living in Florida, its a must to tint the windows. I have heard of the problem 3g TL's have with scratching the tint so I will be careful with that. The guy that has tinted my cars for the past 5 years told me he recommends to remove something inside the door panels that would fix the problem. He said he has had bad experience with moleskin as the adhesive will melt and get onto my windows.
I'm thinking about the AEM CAI V2 that seems to be highly rated by others on this forum. Anything else you guys think is a must?

That's exactly right. I knew they werent just being generous. They have one goal in mind. SELL. I was going to buy it anyway, but it was nice to drive the car for the weekend without commitment in order to see if I really wanted the car or not.

as for the tint, yes moleskin can be tricky if not installed right and/or you live in hot climates.
what i did was go to my local arts/crafts store and picked up some strips of felt. costed me 2$ and you just use the felt in place of the moleskin. the window guard holds the felt in place, and no more scratching! there is a DIY thread around here somewhere but i forget the link, try searching. it's really easy. just remove all the door panels and put on the felt, then put em' back on.
AEM V2 would be a good first mod...but it all depends on what direction you want to take with the car.
coilovers would be my first suggestion. it adds a lot of difference to the cars look, but is a bit pricey...check out the suspension threads and see what you can find.
good luck in your venture! this forum will take your money

Aspec body kit FTW!!
It looks so sweet on the TL-S plus its a factory Honda part so it will bolt up clean and easy. Comes pre painted and isn't too difficult of a DIY job.
Also, being a factory accessory, who knows how much longer they will be plentiful for our 3G TLs.
Congrats on the purchase!!

Here are some pics that I took earlier using my phone.
It's not as clean as it should be. I just wanted to get some pics to post.
Looks like the back seat was never used.

Well damn. I have been a member to several different forums but this is by far the most detailed, thorough, and organized. Just these two links will take more than enough of my time reading.
I can appreciate the time it takes to write these things up.

I agree.
Thanks everyone for the welcome. I will definitely get the tint very soon.
As far as what direction I'm heading for this car.......well I definitely want to keep its classy/luxury looks while bringing out the sporty side of it quite often.
I will most likely get the CAI next and improve the sound system after that. What follows, I'm not sure yet.
