Hamilton Honda

Just recently hit 100,000 miles on my 05 TL auto. Time for the timing belt service soon. Read a few times on the threads a while back that Hamilton Honda in NJ will do the job much cheaper than Acura dealers. Was wondering if anyone on here can confirm this and if there still doing it. Anyone have their TL serviced at Hamilton Honda recently? Any info would be appreciated prior to me calling the dealer myself. Thanks.

Honda Timing Belt Service | Timing Belt Replacement Near Burlington, Trenton, Princeton & Freehold

I did mine in January 2014 there- very happy with the service- mine was $598 including the drive belt, TB tensioner, and timing belt/ water pump. In addition, I added the following while they were in there (bought from Acura of Peoria, AZ)- these aren't necessary for the job, but since they were in there, I wanted any failure prone part changed:

14550-RCA-A01: Idler, Timing Belt (Koyo Seiko) $38.13

14510-RCA-A01: Adjuster, Timing Belt $86.27

19301-P8E-A10: Thermostat Assy. (Nippon Thermostat) $28.08

04317-RCA-305: Tensioner set (Drive belt) $138.06

The charge for the thermostat was $105 (pre-tax) and the other parts were installable since they were deep into the pass side of the engine (well, that and the coolant was drained, so it was a good time to get the thermostat done - not completely needed, but decent for maintenance). New hoses aren't really needed at this mileage (mine were and still are in excellent shape). Cam and crank seals generally aren't done as part of the service.
When I had mine done, their service special for the TB service was $387 (for Honda vehicles with Acura vehicles being $100 more and the tensioner was another $98.

Plugs can be done yourself (and easily)- Honda charges something like $250 to put them in and a valve adjustment (which I have not yet done) is $289 (my valve train is pretty quiet and the car runs great). I did my own plugs.

I also had them exterior detail the car for $80 and they really did a stellar job.

Out the door price with tax was something like $850.

You could likely wait a bit to see if the price on their service special comes down a bit...it's still likely way cheaper than what Acura charges, and HH has done many TBs for the owners of TLs on this forum. Interestingly, they have in larger type the price of $549.98 but at the end of the ad, they also have a price of $389.98- try to get them to honor that price (well, that + the Acura premium of $100)

Better give them a call as they changd their pricing. Last time I checked, maybe 2 months ago, it was going to be @$800+ to have the timing belt changed with no extras.

I think I called them about 2 months ago as well and they told me it was still about $500 for Acuras
This link shows $549 but then in the print below it mentions $389 for Honda vehicles.

Best bet would be to call and see. I had my 02 TL done two years ago for the ~$500 deal

As far as I know Hamilton killed this deal off a few years ago. If you can't get it done there, check this thread out https://acurazine.com/forums/mid-atl...e-area-877617/ , there was a dealer in the Baltimore area that was doing the service for a great price. They even offer shuttle so you can go to the Harbor while you wait. Crystal the name of the Rep familiar with the deal, don't if she is still there or not.

You will find that they add $ for Acura, plus the tensioner and pulley isn't included.

Yes they do add extra for Acuras..and for the tensioner.
I live a few miles from them. Was driving by yesterday and stopped in. They currently do not have the promotion going on this month. They said they did for a few months prior to Feb. Service person wasn't sure if it would be going again in March. I know they had the special going for a long period of time; hopefully it will be back soon. They did confirm last month it was $389 for Hondas. Figure on adding in another $100 at least on top of that for a TL
You can check their service specials tab on their Website in March

Got mine done last summer, was supposed to be $489 for Acura but was charged $389 and another $100 for tensioner. Lucky for me. BTW, great dealer for services and gave me a free loader overnight so plan ahead if loader is needed.

I buy accord parts for my TL since they're the same.

Mainly because they are a Honda dealership, the business has grown, and they really don't need the business from the Acura community. They want to have and keep the Honda repeat business.

Because they have to get the parts (or some of them) thru Acura. At least that was what they had told me. It may be total BS but then again, maybe not. I never gave it too much thought. Now say for example a 3.5L should be the same parts whether it's a 3.5 in an odyssey or a TL, but maybe I'm wrong.

Naturally depending on the engine, the kit for the 3G TL is the same for the Accord, Crosstour, Pilot, Ridgeline, Odyssey, even the Saturn Vue through 2014.

I'm due for my timing belt and reached out to Hamilton Honda. The service has gone up in price. It's now $650 plus tax.

If you're in the NJ area, give our main man Paul a call, 201-562-9820. He's in Clifton and definitely worth the trip from virtually anywhere. You might be surprised, very surprised at the price he'll give you. Consider the fact that he's the ONLY person allowed to touch my car now.

Paul's doing my compliance bushings and rear camber arms. I'd do the camber arms myself, but I figured I'm already going to have him do the bushings, so might as well have him do it all. Then I'll have him do the 105k this fall.

$650 is the normal Honda price. Keep an eye on their website monthly at the start of the month as the TB specials come and go. They usually lower it around the fall (Oct) and Winter (Jan-March), YMMV. I pulled the trigger on Oct 2014 when they had the $389 special. Good luck.

Thanks for the info. I'm only at 100800 miles and the service came up on the MM. I may wait it out. Not sure yet.

$550 has been their regular Honda price for awhile now, $650 is their regular "up charged" Acura price. And of course, add ~ $100 to either price for the tensioner.
