Unhappy Hail.. should I use my body to shield her?

I'm at work and my car alarm went off so I ran out there nerve wrecking because I park under a tree and during the past 5 months, 2 branches had went down and totaled 2 cars. As soon as I opened the door at work I see hails coming down HARDCORE... they're about BB Gun bullet size
I couldn't do anything but standing there looking and hoping it'll be over soon Please pray with me that there won't be any dent I won't be able to have a visual inspection until the rain is over and the car is dry off.

Been reading about ppl with hail & flood damages, can't believe it's happening to me now. Mother Nature is mad What do you guys think? dent or no dent with this kinda hail? Please pray with mehhh and I'll pray for ya later

Just had hail here too. Was sitting in the car waiting for it to let up. 3-4mm max. No damage to the TL, and nothing fresh on my Civic. That one got hit hard in 2003, more like 7-8mm size lol

Midwest or South? Up in my neck of the woods we get thunderstorms almost daily until mid September or later.

Coming from first hand experience, pea sized hail will NOT damage your paint and will NOT dent your car. Once they increase in size to golf ball sizes and baseball sizes, then dents are unavoidable. However, large hail balls do NOT scratch paint. Here are the iceballs that hit my car and dented every panel and cracked my entire front windshield about 2 weeks ago:

Pea sized hail is absolutely nothing to worry about. Once you start getting into quarter sized hail, then damage could possibly happen. My TL has been in more than one hail storm...luckily they were all very small.

The pics Bforbrian posted...THOSE will screw your car up.

Grab a mattress and put it over as much of the car as you can, windshield atleast .

The posted hail looks like it could kill you.

I would so do that if only I had a mattress at work I think I should probably get 1 or 2 thick blankets and leave them in the trunk just in case
The posted hail looks like it could kill you.
even at pea size, with the speed they came down they could kill you if they hit the right spot on your head

Thanks all! I really wish I dont have to deal with this kinda mother nature's anger anymore...

I was also a victim of the hail storm the other week. I just picked up my car last friday from the bodyshop ($6,000 damage) and last night there was some crazy storm that hit Long Island NY with some large hail warnings. I was scared as shit! Good thing my area did not get hail, just some serious torrential down pour.

$6k...
someone needs to invent something to protect cars from hail. must be lightweight so it can be stored in the car without reducing MPG

Deflatable air matress or even those slim air cushion pads that you put under your sleeping bags.... Both products are camping gear and are meant to be portable. Then again I live in SoCal so the worst we get is morning dew
