Anyone instal this bulb on their TL? Any pics? Is it a plug and play bulb? I'm looking for a good yellow LED bulb.

Yup it's a plug and play bulb.

Just make sure you buy the right size.

so you can just put the LED one in? since it's 13 W you don't need some kind of kit to put them in right? hmm i may have to change out my hoen xenonmatch for some LEDs..

^^^ yup plug and play

only for 07+ models that have DRL, then need to add some kit which will take the error code out....

since the LED's have lower resistance the ECU thinks "fuck blown LED " and gives an error message....the kit adds resistance to the circuitry and hence eliminating the error code....

ok confused now...are you saying LEDs for the fog lights or the DRLs? I thought this thread was for fog lights but maybe i was mistaken...I already have LED DRLs with a decoder kit haha

the pics will never do them justice, but I love them! I know you should only use them as needed, but they make things so much better when on. You will not regret!

Hey Swoosh, couple questions. I have a 2007 Type-S to start with...

The DRLs in the 07 - Is there a reliable DRL module? I feel like I keep seeing people saying theyre getting the code anyway. Any thoughts on this?

Also, any reason you recommend HIDs for the fogs? I haven't seen anyone who is using the LEDs for fogs yet, but I'm interested if anyone else has. From what I can tell, the kit is plug and play and doesn't even use ballasts, is this correct?

Finally, one more question, just slightly off-topic. I just put in my HID fogs over the weekend, and now I have some fog/condensation in one of them. Does anyone know how to get rid of this?

i run the JLC lightings DRL kit with 68 SMD LEDs and I have no error code and the DRLs put out a bright light. I have this on my 2008 Type S. Every other company usually has a code come up eventually or doesn't produce a strong output. Or you can build your own kit

here is the link (recommend the 68 LEDs if you go this route, little brighter):
http://www.jlclightings.com/9005-LED...-p/sku_066.htm

i posted day pics and a comparison pic in post 156 of this thread:
https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/new-cree-dtrl-bulbs-available-821566/

my fiancee (who is not the biggest fan when I spend so much time with my car) said today she saw me driving down the road and said my lights look great coming down the road!

Second link isn't working, but it sounds interesting. So is this similar to installing hid fogs witha ballast then? And from you saying that it looks bright, I'm assuming that the decoder box also takes care of the problem with the drls only getting half power?

i edited the link...or search for a thread called "New CREE DTRL bulbs available", post 156.

the decoder box and the kit setup allow full power and make the lights as bright as OEM or brighter, and they have a great look to them.

i haven't done HID fogs but from what I've read on here they are very similar. I plan on posting a thread in the near future on my experience with the install (had some issues that I worked out) but it's not too bad, just find a good ground, some decoder mounting locations, and you're good to go.

Hmmm... sounds like there are some potential bugs that still haven't been worked out, and with it being winter now, i think I'll wait till spring to see what I want to do. I just know I don't want to spend a bunch of time messing with them out in the cold if I have trouble with them. They look damn good on your car though! Thanks for the good info!

problems involved not picking a good ground location and getting a slightly mis-wired kit. Jlc worked with me and sent me out a new wired decoder and have had no problems since.

Thanks for the compliment! I agree I wouldn't want to mess with them in the cold either, but if you ever get around to it and have questions feel free to PM me I've helped out a few members with some info on the setup

about the DRL's sockr1 answered all your queries while i was at the :gym: hahaha

why HID's for fog, they are bright, solve the purpose and looks great....besides give you an option of color from 3000K (piss yellow) to 16000K+ (ricer blue)

LED's in the fogs will be plus and play....no ballast, no error eliminator etc

I think you didnt put the bulb in properly....so there is moisture going in....take a hairdryer to it or just let it air dry....then put the bulb in properly making sure it seals (kinda) the enclosure....

This might also happen if your using a different bulb then specified, example is using an H8 bulb in a H3 socket
