The best I'v seen are 5.6 for the MT and I believe 6.3 for the AT.

I think the auto would do better if shifted into "L" for 0-60 and the 1/4 mile. SS shifts too soon, as does the automatic. Anybody agree with me? If so, I would like to see some times!

I'll hook up my G-tech this weekend and see what the difference between the "M" mode (sportshift) and the "L" technique is with the 5AT.
We're finally going to get some decent weather so it'll be a good chance to try it out.

"Going back to the J32 engine, we also found that it makes the car a stellar performer at the drag strip, even with the hindrance of FWD. We ripped off repeated 14.4 runs in the 97-98 mph range until we finally managed to nail a nearly perfect launch and extract a 14.20 @ 98 mph pass with a 2.16 60 ft. All this in a 3500 lbs car with half a tank of gas, 200+ lbs of driver and camera equipment on factory tires at stock pressures. That's right, we didn't even drop the tire pressure. We performed our dragstrip testing at Montgomery Motorsports Park in Montgomery, AL. The elevation was about 100 ft and temps were in the 55-60 F range. When we put the car on the dyno at Dynolab in Marrieta, GA, the J32 put down about what we expected, 223 whp and 208 lbs-ft of torque. Compared to the last 260 hp CL-S 6spd we tested, this is about 5 hp more. With the larger, heavier tires on the TL, plus normal variation, this is pretty accurate - the J32 is not underrated, but the dyno curve suggests quite a bit more hp lurks in the upper rpm reaches waiting to be unlocked by the ECU - Hello? Hondata? "

James... didn't TOV test the 6MT? I'm curious what the numbers are for the 5AT? I'm also curious about the technique used to test with the 5AT?
So far it looks like starting in "L" and then shifting to "M" seems to be the best technique for 0-60MPH times.
I'll be testing these mthods with my G-tech meter:
1 - Put the tranny in "D" and floor it
2 - Put the tranny in "M" and floor it. Let the car do the 1-2 shift on it's own.
3 - Put the tranny in "L" and floor it. Let the car do the 1-2 shift on it's own.
I suspect 60MPH can be reached somewhere in 2nd gear. If not I'll have to revise my test methods to include a 2-3 shift. Either manually or automatically.

Not yet. Let me break mine in a little and then I'll hook up the G-tech and try it.
I'm also looking at hooking up my video camera inside my TL to film the runs. I'm thinking of removing the rear headrests and making some kind of mount that will also use the child seat anchors to secure it in place. Maybe even a remote control to pan/zoom the camera while I'm at it.
