I just read that violent crime has shot up a lot as demonstrated in this thread. California just authorized the CHP to start patrolling the streets of Oakland and Stockton to bolster normal police patrols. Perhaps this will be a trend that goes to other states as well.

Seems this is becoming a regular occurence as the economic situation deteriorates. Sucks that people go so low to take a man's car. I hope the police catch them and you get your car back, if not maybe they go to jail and give you some piece of mind.

What sucks is I wont get from my Insurance what ist worth
The Fair market Value of an 07 WDP TL Type-S with 57,000 miles is MAX about $20,000 I have told my Ins Rep that he sould go on CARS.COM and see what they are going for - $24,000- $26,000 "IF" One could be found like mine with ebony/grey leather. And I put Grey 19" Volk GT-S wheels and TEIN SA coilovers all gone. Plus the tax I paid when I bought it is Gone.
Thankyou Everybody. I might end up buying a used Civic Si ???
I dont know what to do now. ??
I am glad I am alive to help my mom and son.
THANKYOU ALL FOR CARING <3 GOD BLESS AND I WILL LET YOU ALL KNOW WHAT HAPPENS.
Sorry to hear, but glad you're OK. I'm concerned that crime is just going to increase in all parts of the country. I'm afraid, we'll all have to be more careful in our regular activities going forward.
Please keep up posted in how things work out with your insurance. You have a Nav so be very careful at your home since the address is likely in your Nav along with the registration and insurance paperwork and of coarse the house key on your car keys.

I mainly put this up for a WARNING to you guys and gals. I am like a Cop when it comes to awareness. So strange ???
These guys were pro's which means its probably hidden in Chicago on the way to Mexico. I almost dont want them to find it. My Aunt had this happen 20 years ago, and the TOTALLY TRASHED THE ENTIRE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE, and her Insurance wouldn't total it. It was only 6 months old. It looked BAD when she got it back. But she was satisfied
[QUOTE=WestCoastin31;14128962]Sorry to hear about your car man, God was watching your six though for sure, glad you're ok.[/
AMEN BROTHER HALLELUJAH
Only one of the guys got close to me . He was wearing all black clothes and a hoodie open just enough for him to see. He Had a very dark tan.
I know guns and I saw the hole 6 inches from my face for a second.

Super scary situation but glad you're safe! I, too, have had similar situations like this, which is why I always carry some form of protection with me, everywhere. Hopefully you come out on top of this man!

I wouldn't care about finding the car, but I hope they find the guys with a bullet through their skulls.

That seriously sucks. Like everyone else said, glad you are ok and your life is worth far more than a car. You may want to send some pictures and any receipts you have of your car to the insurance company. I have had luck with sending this info and a spreadsheet of maintenance and parts I did not have receipts for with a link to the part online for a price point reference. They may not give you full retail replacement cost but something is better than nothing. Best of luck to you, your mom, and son.

Knock on wood brother, glad to hear you are alright, honestly I have felt that way about my TL-S for a long time. It is a highly limited car and a lot of people want it, it has wonderful potential if you have people who know how to handle a beast.
Which is why a key factor for the purchase of my vehicle was the low jack, I think anyone who has that much value in one thing should always have the ability to get it back.
Low-jack is the way to go, friends Mercedes was returned within 17 mins LMAO; super clutch

i don't even know what to say to this. I mean thank god you're ok and unharmed but this is messed up.
I shouldn't be surprised as the economy worsens and we see what some people will do when things don't go their way. I personally could never see myself doing that because I was raised better, but we have a lot of shit people in the world with no upbringing that teaches any sort of common courtesy or human decency.
You apparently are, but I am not the most religious man on the planet - what I will say that above all else, if there is one thing that has crippled society over the past 20 years, it's been the complete rejection and alienation of religion. And not for the sake of religion, but because if nothing else when taught at a young age, if you gain nothing else from it you will at least have some understanding of having a moral compass.
Your mileage may vary on what I just said, but I stand by it. The world has gone to shit.
again, very thankful you're ok.
My dad lives in Glenview IL and if I recall you aren't too far from that neck of the woods, not far off from i-94 which quite honestly is pretty disconcerting to me.
still in shock over here..

Wow.. I hope they find them and seriously lock em up for a very long time, for them to learn a lesson.
Glad nothing happened. Like people said, Car is just a car, your life is much more important than a car.

I just want to begin with the fact that you are alive and above all else that is truly all that matters.
BUT on this fact
If you fight them you will win. I have had 1 car totalled and 2 vehicles stolen from my houses over the years. The first car was a POS crx that I had a b16 swap in and a guy backed into me at a light. They originally totaled the car and offered me a 800 dollar check. The body of the CRX was rust free and at the time that was hard to come by. I went to the isurance with 12 crx's in my area for 12-1500 dollars and told them if they could find a crx in the condition mine was in prior to 800 bucks I would take that but if not I wanted the full 1500 regardless of blue book value due to the fact that they can't be found for that price. Without a lawyer or anything involved I left with a check for 1350 since that was in the middle of the road for the values I had found and they couldn't find one cheaper.
The Civic Si I had stolen in FL was a total loss as well. They offered me 5k about 6 years ago so imagine what an SI when for that long ago. You can barely find them for 5 now a days. I had to pull the " I will get a lawyer if I need to as you insured the car based on the value of replacement." If neither your or them can find a REPLACEMENT vehicle for the value they give you then obviously they evaluated it WRONG. I left that time with a check for around 7300 and purchased another Si in better condition.
Play your cards right and you can get into another TL with little to no money out of your pocket and that is how it should be. You have insurance for a reason. Total loss = just that, TOTAL LOSS and you should get a replacement vehicle of the same condition.
You WILL NOT get any money for taxes or aftermarket parts if you did not inform them you had them on your vehicle prior to the incident and in reality they COULD take money off as replacement factory wheels generally cost more brand new than aftermarket wheels unless you have baller wheels.
BUT on this fact
Thanks . But no. He ran up very fast and I saw his face for 1 second. He was wearing all black and a hoodie almost closed.

If you had a dumb guys and your car was manual, they would've been a fail of the year. Things happen for a reason, you lived through it, it will only make you aware more. Yin andYang, you get the bad, you get a new car in return, plus more.

Always operate in condition yellow and ready to go orange or higher if needed when out and about. And always be aware of your surroundings. Carry a gun, train well in its use, and be prepared to use it if necessary (oops, you live in Illinois so that part is not an option for you legally).
Glad you got through this without injury.
