Green fluid leak

I have had my TL for just a week and have noticed a small amount of green fluid in the garage under the car each morning. I am taking it in tomorrow, anyone have this problem. Is this coolant?

A quick look at the coolant tank revealed a bright green liquid in it.

This sounds very plausible especially if the techs topped off the coolant prior to delivery. After a drive, the coolant heats up and expands and may overflow if overfilled. For most of us, the coolant is a little low from the factory due to the fact that some air may have been trapped from the initial fill from the factory. As the air burped out, the coolant level dropped. Just keep a close eye on the coolant level and see if the fluid loss still occurs after a day or 2.

I have been using Havoline Extended Life 5 year protection, which is orange, in my Oldsmobile for many years, and I'm sure vehicle manufacturers are using it, or a similar product, also.

There was a warning, by Road Rage probably, that you should only use Honda coolant in the TL because of the materials used in the engine and the non-compatibility with certain fluids.

No. 5 in the MID maintenace schedule is "Replace Coolant", so the MID probably won't show a 5 for the stated maintenance period of 105,000 miles, but there is no way I would wait that long. The point here is that you don't have to change coolant very often, so why not stick with the factory product, even if it is a few dollars more.

Yeah - the coolant needs to be silicate free - which most coolants (like prestone) are not. The silicates can physically wear the aluminum coolant passages in the engine.

You change coolant so infrequently in these cars - I agree with Ron A. just use Honda coolant.

Besides - you just can't beat that beautiful emerald green color!

Yeah I tripped out the first time I saw the orange stuff. Then did a little research on it. It does contain silicon, and in certain engines works well, also extended the life of the hoses. On my grand Am I the radiator finally sprung a leak at 143K miles, and the hoses were still good, but had them replaced anyway.

Yeah I agree though stick with what is recommended for the car and if it needs to be changed more fequent then there is a reason for that.
The color reminds me of "The Incredible Hulk". The drink that is, hmm better watch what they put in it from now on

Ron:
I mean to say I have seen red/orange coolant in a few Lexus. As for myself, I always try to use factory fluids.

Not true, especially on Hondas. Never seen Dex-Cool or its equivalent ever used in a Honda product.

Honda Type2 coolant is green.

While coolant colors may vary, choose the one that makes you happy - BUT make sure you always use Filtered air in your tires. If you use a standard air pump at a gas station the air going inside the tires actually contains fuel vapors which, when heated, could explode. It is best to use a portable pump or air compressor with an HVC32-19A filter installed. This will avoid any potential problems.

I took it to the dealer and they said that the block heater was not properly installed by the dealer I bought it at and I should take it back there for repair.
This is very annoying. This confirms that I will not use Acura on Brant for service.
