got tires rotated at walmart tire center....they tried to rip me off
$1.50 rotation per tire so all 4 tires plus tax came out to be $27.82.
I was like wtf. Then they said they charged me 5 dollars per tire to reset TPMS. I told them my tpms don't need to be resetted, and its adjusted automatically. And said that my other 4 previous tire rotations at walmart never charged me for this service. I wonder how did they even reset it anyways?
After arguing they decided to credit me back my $20.

OMG! Don't ever go to WM for service on your car! Sure you can go there to buy your dove soap, mr clean, and bounty...but don't bring your car there for service! I don't even like parking in the WM lot, some jerk is always leaving his or her carriage by my car.

:thumbsdow: Let Wal Mart work on Hyundais. Take your TL somewhere reputable. +1 for Discount Tire / America's Tire. Free rotations, flat fixes, free air, etc.

True story...was entering Walmart parking lot about five years ago and passing me in the other direction was a Ford Crown Vic that was leaving the Walmart parking lot at the same entrance/exit. No shit...his car rocked...and the friggin wheels on one whole side came off and darted up into his wheel wells...of course bending the fender and quarter panel pretty badly. I just parked and went in like I was doing anyway (to buy something..dont remember what) and soon after when I left near that same area (couldnt use that exact exit anymore as there was a friggin car with half its wheels off/shoved up sitting in the middle of it) the Walmart Automotive Employees were out there checking out their handy work. I heard the guy yelling at them...I was just about to get on the highway! I laughed my ass off! They all (even the Walmart employees) just stood there in amazement.

The fact that its not a rear drive 4.6 V8 like the Hyundai Genesis.![Thumbs Up](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Guess that just you, but that Walmart in North Raleigh in addition to a bunch of Honda's also has a lot of luxury cars parked in it.

As a family...we tried despirately NOT to support Walmart whatsoever due to their general business practices as it relates to my particular industry of sales brokerage services. In the end...it was almost impossible because you were spiting yourself in the end by overpaying elsewhere. That lasted for about the first two years they came to town many moons ago...now its second nature if your in the area....and who isnt. They only have one on every corner anymore.
As for Hyundia...not my brand of choice...but they certainly offer a good value in comparison to like brands out there for what one would pay...thats for sure. They are doing something right as they are selling cars.

Well back to the subject: Our TPMS DOES NOT have to be reset. There are some other cars out there that might need some resetting or calibration but not the TL. They couldn't of done any extra work and charged you for it. If they said they did in fact change a setting, they are either lying or you can get them in trouble for going into your diagnostic menu and altering something that could void your warranty. Don't worry of course, they don't know how to get into that menu so you know they were lying! Somehow those goons realized you have TPMS looking at your valvestems/MID or the vehicle specific info on their computer advised them to charge you extra because of your TPMS.

my mom used to bring her car to walmart for oil changes until....
they returned her car to her and the drivers door wouldnt close; it kept hitting itself. they claimed it was that way when she dropped it off, but she started yelling at them. turns out they left the door open when they lowered the car on the lift and it caught on something and bent it upwards. they ended up giving her the cash to get it fixed. good thing it was a crappy car and my dad just hung on the door to bend it back down enough to close and kept the cash.

Most of what you see here is Civics & Hyundai's suck while BMW, Infinity, Lexus, Mercedes cost to much.
Seems like many posts want to piss on cars further down the pecking order & are envious of cars further up the food chain.
1. I don't have a Hyundai but will consider it to replace the TL since the V8 with the full tech package costs about the same as the G4 TL & I don't care for the new 4G TL's body. I think the 3G is one of those rare cars that just looks right.

2. Generally don't keep a car long enough to acumlate that kind of millage. Have only gone over 100K miles a few times & then only with trucks or SUV's.
That being said Hyundai warranties it power train for 10 year/100K miles & the whole car for 5 years 60K miles which is better then the warranty I have on my 06TL6MT
Right now my daily drivers are at
98 Ranger 4X4 - 68K miles
04 BMW 6MT Convert - 57K miles
06 TL 6MT - 29K miles
08 Expedition EL 4X4 - 6K miles
None have required anything other then normal maintenance (free on the BMW) except the TL which had its left tail light assembly replaced after 3 weeks & its 3rd gear assembly replaced last month.
The BMW will be replaced with another 09 convertible, either a 135 or 335. My current preference is the 135.

Well Acura is neither an economy car nor a pure luxury brand. That's why it can't be fit into a certain category. Cars like the RSX border on the Hondaish and the RL borders on pure luxury. The TL is smack in the middle of entry luxury.
The Hyundai Genesis I am sure is a pretty good car, many cars in the last 5 yrs. from them are getting better than ever. The main problem is having a brand perception problem in the US that won't go away. It's "image/status" level is near the lowest of all brands. If they really wanted to release a car like the Genesis they should have an upscale line that wil reinvent themselves like Lexus/Acura/Infiniti. (Some Americans don't even know the mother companies of these brands!) In today's economy you know it's not a smart move for Hyundai. I totally think this is the wrong car at the wrong time. If they were developed enough at the time, 1990 was the best time to enter the field with the rest of the Japanese manufacturers.
In terms of pissing below and envying above, that's human nature of course. As much as I love Acura, if I own a Bentley I will probably piss on it too. I will envy the Bugatti Veyron that passes by though. We Americans want bigger, faster, more expensive. A lil bit of greed is in most of us.

That's what I like about the 3rd generation TL. It's just a good, solid all around car. It is not overstated, in your face, egotistical or pretentious. You are not going to break any land speed records in it, but it is a rewarding driving experience with a sporty edge. It's a great mix of quality, reliability, understated good looks and a great all around car.
