Got smoked...

...by a JR 700-series Shinkansen headed for Shin-Osaka at Shimbashi. It was like I was standing still.

On a serious note, it's only a few of us ever posting over here be it our own thread or commenting on someone elses. Don't tell me none of the hundreds of other members on here have never even mashed against a friend!! Also, what's the abundance of bench races against a 3 series? It's as if the other 20 threads proving that 328s and 330s can in fact be beaten wasn't enough already...

^ Shimbashi. I wrote that in the first sentence! It's between Shinagawa and Tokyo.

They actually have M in Shimbashi? I thought that's no M sound in Japanese!

It goes both ways, usually said both ways (Shinbashi or Shimbashi) but in romaji it's Shimbashi.

~Cheers~

P.S. Also, ず and づ are romanized as "zu" even thought they're two different characters.

Prior to the construction of Secaucus Jct train station, I would occasionally try to outpace Amtrak regionals and Acela Expresses on the Northeast Corridor segment (bet. NYC and Newark) that parallels the NJ Turnpike.

^ I do that with BART trains on Hwy 280 N heading into San Francisco! You run parallel with them for a little while, too. I've also done it in the East Bay heading to Concord, haha. Some of those trains go pretty quick! Keeping up with traffic doing 70-80. The Shinkansen beat me because I was waiting to board another train... and actually standing still!! I still want to go for a ride on one, just need a place to go, haha. Maybe I'll visit an ex in Nagoya... Wouldn't mind to be able to hit 300+KM/H!

~Cheers~

Haha this is all too reminiscent of when I played the original Tokyo Extreme Racer, that game was sick.

Wangan Midnight = Tokyo Extreme Racer. I used to play WM2 at the game centres here, but it's a waste of money. Besides, the opponents all drive cars with pink underglow... (real people who can CHOOSE their mods).

Since the construction of Secaucus Jct., Amtrak has reduced the speed on that stretch. Now, there is a stretch of I-95 just North of Philly where one could have a good runoff with the same forementioned trains.

Nozomi was the 500 series, Hikari Rail Star is the 700. It's supposed to be the "Eco" shinkansen according to the CMs that JREast puts out, haha. I'm more into hassha melodies than the trains themselves, anyway, but the 700-series are freaking sexy machines.
