Just imagine how nice it would look. If it's a quality wrap job, $1800 is not a bad price at all. I've seen them for as much as $4000. Then in 4 years, you peel it off and have time-frozen paint!

Dude, where you at??? I will bring my car up there and get flat black vinyl for that much installed!!!
Like a few have said, def. a good deal. I know painting it will be quite a bit more..... Thing to also look at is do they have experience wrapping cars?

Not a chance. There's much better ways to spend $1800. Plus you'd be surprised how hard it is to keep flat black looking good.

Hmmmm...
I think it would look great, and I think everyone is right about preserving your paint, but:
$1800 seems to me like a lot to spend on something nonfunctional-
I presume you live where there is no snow, no mud, and no bugs; I can't imagine anything less attractive than flat black after driving through winter weather or a nice warm damp country summer evening-
I would think every fingerprint would show and that if you drip some oil on the front fender you might have to wash the whole car to get an even look-
That said, it's your money, and I'd really like to see the pix.

I do car wraps for a living and I am pretty good at it. The only thing I would consider is a hood overlay. The door handles would be difficult to do, and the bumpers would be tough to do without a few seams in them. $1800 is a good price though as the material is very expensive and just to do the install would be about $1000. The vinyl should have a protective overlaminate on it or it will not last. Also, installers typically use an adhesive promoter called "primer 94" that really helps the vinyl stick to areas such as door handles and edges. It leaves a nasty residue behind when the vinyl is peeled and it is a bitch to remove. Also, do you really want someone you don't know working with razor knives around your car? Those Ferraris in those pictures are done by really good installers WHO WERE ABLE TO REALLY TAKE THEIR TIME!!! Most vehicles that are wrapped are vans for radio stations, ambulances, etc, and are done rather quickly. Just like a woman, they can look good from afar but far from good. I have done a Hummer and a custom Subaru at the Philly car show and a few other cool cars, but those are not the norm.
Before you decide to do it , take a look at some of the installers work and make sure it is staying down around the wheel wells, handles, etc. Ask him about a guarantee too.
I would just do the hood and spend the rest on performance mods myself. I am going to do my hood soon and I will post a pic. My car is DGP with matte black stock wheels, so it should look good.
