Got Picked on by a Tiburon

I was on my way home from work minding my own business and this Tiburon kept on driving even with me for almost 3 miles. whenever I sped up, he was right next to me. It has been awhile since I had some fun on the highway. I use to own 2000 Prelude and 2001 Bmw 330i, Fun ass cars to play with! Anyways, then he kept on going faster and slowing down to race me. Finally I gave up and put it in manual shift and dropped it down to 3rd going 70mph. I pulled on him like crazy!

Does anyone know what the Tiburons run 1/4 mile and HP?

Decided to share with anyone who cares.

Man, you should ask this information in Cars Talks https://acurazine.com/forums/car-talk-5/

If we cannot come out more 3GTL talks in this thread, this thread should be closed, IMO.

If someone has a car in a similar class and it cost 20k more, you may want to keep your distance. I dispize Hyundai and Kia. Assuming they were living it up with the higher end one you only beat them in HP by 98, and in in torque by 57, but then again you are about 500 pounds fatter. Their HP to Weight(with MT) is .057:1 and their torque to weight is .06:1 While you(with an AT) have an HP to weight ratio of .075:1 and torque to weight of .066:1. Urg, I really wish Acura would do something about this low torque(ok, so its not that low, but still).

There is something about those tiburon drivers, they are a bit weird.

I was in traffic class a couple years ago (yes I was young and dumb and had an AWD Impreza) The instructor said "who in here has a muscle car" So this guy in front raises his hand. The instructor asks him what kind, and he says a Tiburon!! The whole class was rolling laughing, and the guy who answered was dead serious. Ahh good stuff

HAHA Guess I am not the only one who got picked on by a Tiburon. I didnt get it, he was messing with me for like 3 miles. I am not the type of person who is going to pull up next to a stock Civic and want to race. That is just stupid, but this person asked for it.

Yeah... something about people who own that car. LOL!

Someone also did this to a friend of mine who was driving an old ferrari spyder... Tiburon owners must like getting spanked to do stuff like that on a consistent basis

the tiburons in korea have different signs in korea than they do in the US...they have this T thing for the emblem...it looks cooler than the slanted H

also, for such a small country..i think it's amazing how south korea can produce the tiburon and other hyundais...as well as kias and some other lesser known car manufacturers...it's crazy..like..99% of all cars in korea are korean cars...maybe they just export shitty cars to the US?

but yeah, I was driving in koreatown in los angeles yesterday..and saw a fixed up tiburon...he got me in 1st, but then by 2nd and 3rd, i was at least a whole car distance in front of him..

Personal experience: Korea does not like to import, especially from Japan.

Additionally most of their manufacturers have lower standards... resulting in lower quality goods. This was true until the late 90s when standards improved.

Some companies (Hyundai) have been a little slow on that curve, whereas others (Samsung) have excelled.

Samsung is nice, got my 50in pedastil DLP tv from them. Anyway, Korean cars have a generic vavle leak problem. If someone gets a Tiburon thinking its a muscle car.... Wow, they cant know too much about cars, so go ahead and woop them.

I think people just mess with Ferrari's and other high performance cars, just to see them in action. Umm, not that I have done it

Thats true. My policy is only let somone pass if their car is better then yours(anywhere, intersections, etc). I envy people with better stuff then me, but I look down on people with crap. I know, its mean, but most of the time people with nice stuff worked for it(there is the occasional trust fund) and I respect that.

Several weeks ago, I was alongside a new Aston Martin DB9. I wanted to hear that beautiful V12 so I egged him on a bit. At the next light, he rolled off the line and then opened it up and left me way behind. I didn't even try as I wanted to hear his engine, not mine. It was music. Meanwhile, there's probably a post on an A-M enthusiasts' site titled, "Got Picked on by a TL."

People with crap stuff probably also worked for it.

I look down on those with crap who think they have gold. I'm not talking about those who appreciate what they have. I'm talking about those who have crap but think it's better than your gold. I've had my share of ricers with their fart cans think they can beat me. I usually let them.

I know aston martins are great cars, but If I was spending that much on a car I would go with a ferrari, Lambergini, or Saleen. The DB9 is a hot car though, and If I were collecting stuff on that level I would definatly have one in my garage, just not as a priority.

Like I tell my wife all the time when she gets pissed after I take someone off the light. It's all about respect. I will respect a vette but damn it just because you have a big ass pipe on a VW Bug don't mean you can disrespect me. I wish I had a sign in my back window that I could light up when I kick ass that said, "BOW DOWN B%&CH"

meh... I still like my vocal coach's plate on his Ferrari: "PWN3D"

For a guy in his 60s, he still hauls a$$ when he wants to.
