Got a new '04 TL/Who Drives an ES 330?

Bought my '04 last week...love it. Paid $700 over invoice....not great, not shabby.

I drove and considered buying an ES 330. Nice car, plush ride, but no comparison to the TL.

I saw a thread several weeks back that discussed who drives an ES. ie., man vs. woman, age etc. So I've taken an unscientific survey as I drive the roads of the southeast US.

For the most part, 85% of all drivers are female. The vast majority are north of 50. The few men I've seen seem to be older than 60.

This doesn't surprise me, especially after I drove the ES.

They're both nice!

I couldn't make up my mind either...So I bought both!

They're both ok. The Lexus is more comfortable, especially for long drives, while the TL is more fun to drive. The quality of the Lexus is superior to that of the TL.

My TL has Navi, the Lexus does not. I love the Navi and the HFL Thus, I tend to drive the TL more in the city (Wash, DC).

Overall, I prefer the TL. However, they are some things I don't like about it. The Lexus is smoother and quieter. Simply more luxorious. It is quality! THe TL is a bit junky on the finish of things....metal, seats, and certainly noisier. BUT, more fun to drive and less, "boaty"....All and all, both are beautiful cars. I suspect that the Lexus will last much longer. Not sure if it's the quality or the fact that I drive TL like a madman! My 2 cents.

Tough Choice

For someone MY age, the choice was difficult. Took, maybe, 5 minutes.

I test drove the ES330 at the "Lexus Taste of Luxury test drive event". The ES330 felt underpowered. My friend, who drives a 1992 Corolla, also felt it was slow. It does have a nice quiet ride.
The BMW 545 had a lot of power.
