got into an accident, need your input

just got into the accident about 3 hours ago. Damage is minimal from what I saw in the dark, half of my driver's door and fender are pretty messed up. I'm hoping it didn't any further than that. The lady was going a bit fast.

Anyway, doing my research ahead of time. I got the car from DCH Montclair in North NJ, and I want to keep it as far away from that place as possible. Yes, they sponsor the site, but their service desk CS is just subpar overall. Where are the reputable bodyshops in the North NJ area that I can explore? Thanks in advance for the inputs.

you should try to contact DCH to find out if they contract body work outside of the dealership and ask for the name of the bodyshop, then when your claim to your insurance comes in, you can use that specific bodyshop to do the work. That way you don't have to deal with DCH's CSR but still get the quality work from a factory fix.

Your insurance company has preferred local shops that they work with. Those shops guarantee the work for the lifetime of the car, as does the insurance company.

I have used Hayward Place Autobody in Wallington, NJ. for many years and they are a great autobody shop to deal with.

The major downside is that they are not a big place but the owner Frank makes up for that with excellent service and work.

can you post pics of the damage? Also Take it to a place where they know what they are doing. My friend got into an accident a while back with his TL rear ended by drunk driver (3rd gen) and had it repaired at a local place. He recently got into an accident (same type) and the back quarter panels did not buckel as they should to absorb impact. He called up Acura to see what was up and their bodyshop said that they did not weld on the new quarter panels on the factory places so the uni-body system did not function right. just thought for the heads up

You could have posted the pictures here. It might be too confusing to merge the threads now so... please continue the discussion in the new thread: accident a few nights ago <pics>
