So i come out of class yesterday walk up to the TL and iv got a nice dent starting on the drivers side front wheel well and dragging down the drivers door. FML! So i look around and guess what? There is a silver car (silver paint on my car BTW) with white paint (my cars WDP) all over its back bumper, parked next to me! This dumb BITCH did it and parked next to me, I go into the school and file a report. I come outside to get her plate number and my registration info and BAM shes gone! Anyway, Im pretty sure I know her name so my brother is looking into it (state trooper) and his friends in the local police station took the info and my statement. First quote I got was a grand to fix and repaint!

 

Ouch, well at least you have the info of the other car. Otherwise, you'd be out some $$ to fix it.

 

Yea well my bro came into school with me today to check out her car and guess who skipped school today? Yea so we are pretty sure she did it, but my poor car is jacked

 

you're pretty lucky to be driving a TL in high school. pretty sweet ride for a 17yo. back when i was in high school, i had an old beater civic.

 

I know man thats why im so upset about this, I baby the hell outta my car and some moron girl cant drive and hits it. Not fair. And I turn 18 on sunday ill be filing charges for leaving the scene, thats illegal.

 

Gah. That's why I park far far away in my school's lot. Sorry to hear that man. Some people just can't drive.

 

I was parked as far away as possible! Thats the worst part, all the juinors are getting licenses and are supposed to park in the back of the school but they all wanna be cool and park with the seniors so when the people that get to come in 3rd period come in there is no parking, she was trying to squeeze into the spot next to me and bam.

 

Sorry to hear this. But, at least you have the insurance company to fix it for you.

 

As long as we can prove it was her, its gotta be pretty solid if she wont admit it.

Im waiting for a sunny day to get good pics, its hard to get it when its cloudy out on a white car, you can either see the dent or the paint damage, hard to get both

 

if you really want to get this settled quickly...have your parents call her parents...im sure her parents would make sure she learns her lesson if they're any good...

 

You know, I can understand accidents. If somebody hits your door with theirs and leaves a mark... well, it sucks, but I can live with that. Most of the time that can be fixed with minimal cost. But the damage your describing... Well, it's just lack of consideration. But I know what's going through this girl's head. She figures that if she gets caught, she's gonna be in a world of hurt. What I don't get is why she parked right next to you after the incident. Wow... I'm surprised she didn't high-tail herself out of there and went home "sick".

Fortunately, that's what insurance is for. Cases like this where somebody else's bad judgment screws things up. I still sympathize with you. I would have been hot under the collar, for sure.

No kidding! My best friend was given a '90 Integra GS for his 16th birthday by his parents. It was bought brand new off the showroom floor. We all though we were hot shit when we were riding in that car. Me? I was rollin' retro in a light blue 1980 Chevy Malibu Classic V6 4-door sedan. It just wasn't the chick magnet that I imagined it would be when I picked up my license in '91 and inherited these wheels.

Was your school in the ghetto? Honest question. There are some places around Indy I wouldn't dare park my car but my high school is a place I feel pretty safe parking at.

 

I thought they have patrol persons around HS campuses nowadays ... still hard to believe what happened here tho ... sigh ...

Sucks, but glad you're getting it worked out. Consider yourself relatively lucky, though. When I got sideswiped, I needed a new door skin and mirror, set my insurance back $2300 ( I paid $500 deductible) and the guy who hit me also hightailed it. Now I'm scared to park in front of my school.

Thank God the driving centres here are on strike, prevents any of the juniors from getting their licenses.

Trust me, there's no better feeling than seeing your car repaired and looking like new in the body shop for the first time.

I don't know about you but honest would be to man up to your actions and not drive home like she did and not come into school tom thinking he wasn't smart. That ghetto comment is wrong, I know spoiled rich kids at the school I went to and they drove audis and still didn't care to hit their cars and ding others. Some people no matter who they are can be careless and its just wrong. Mistakes happen, MAN UP to your mistakes. If someone hit me and man'd up I would go about it the easiest way - like I would just make him/her pay the deduct and Ill have insurances fix it. In this case she should get hit and run and fix and just have a headache so she learns her lesson. Running away from a problem, you don't learn.

 

I feel your pain, someone hit the rear of my car in a parking lot a while back, it pissed me the hell off. Hell Im pissed right now just thinking about someone hitting my car lol

Its a tough world for us people who take pride in our cars, the majority of people don't give two shits about their own cars, let alone yours.

man hs blows.. My buddy had this pos ford truck in hs.. It was so rusted out he had planks of 2x4 for a truck bed. We pulled out and didn't see this little CRX parked next to us. His front bumper completely pulled off the CRX rear bumper. LOL.. I put it back in place and we drove off. It was fine.. nothing some duct tape wouldn't fix. My buddies a cop now.

To the OP, your insurance handles all this type of stuff. When you make a report over the phone, tell them you saw her do it and you copied her information, license, car make & model. They fight with her insurance over it and you won't pay a dime.

 

Yeah same thing happened to me last summer. Front desk girl comes into my office, giggleing saying "you're in my spot so I hit your car" so I thought she was joking. She's like "no seriously, no one ever parks there this early so I backed in without even looking." She almost thought $500 was too much for the repair! It wasn't much but still sucks I had a dent in the rear for a bit but neither of us filed any claims.

 

Dude, thats a bummer..... I hate it when I park my car AAAALLLLLL the way down the parking lot in the middle of no where when I'm shopping.... and what do you know.... some jacka$$ HAS TO, BUT HAS TO park 1 inch away from my passenger side door.... and I think.... out of all the F*ing parking.... you had to park rite next to MY CAR... and prolly had trouble getting out you crapfest of a vehicle...... it always happens. 4302403283208320 SPOTS and they park right next to you. My buddy parked his MUSTANG GT all the way in the back and it got keyed. Guess keeping your car away from other cars isn't even good enough, but dick heads see it as well I can probably piss this person off. This dumb bitch ran a red light and smashed the entire right front of my car, got it fixed already but on massive pain meds for the pain and got some serious headlight mositure issues changed it 3 times already!!! I will see if i can post a pic of my car smashed!!! Those school bitches are real dumb park as far away as you can who cares if its cold or nobody can see you get out of that nice tl of yours!! LOL just kidding but trust me!!

 

Oh man this does happen I must admit always that stupid fuck that wants to park right next to you with his 88 toyota even though you parked a mile away!!!

 

Thats why I park in the middle of two spaces, next to a light pole with a camera mounted on it, at least 15 empties spaces away from the nearest car,and it has to be visiable from the store windows..... and if I am in a rush and i have to park next to a car ( extremely rare that i park next to a car) ,I park next to a car that looks good.... like a BMW,AUDI... anything that looks like the person might care enough to make sure they don't dent their own car trying to get out the lot, or entering their car without hitting my car with their door.... and I take a picture of their license plate with my Iphone...... BUT THAT's JUST ME!!!

 

Here is ur update. My brother took her in and interviewed her today and her story changed twice he says. He told her to think about it for a few days and come back with the truth or charges will be filed.
