This is what i do to prevent that!

set your butt heater to HI.
once it heats up, put your hand under your butt to make it warm~ make sure you have one hand on steering wheel. I guess this method is hard for MT drivers..

Honestly, to each his own, but a heated steering wheel is one of the most ridiculous features I've ever read about that you can get with a car. The only one worse I can think of off the top of my head is the heated door lock you could get on 3 series a gen or two ago (they still may have them, no clue).

For the record I may just be biased since my hands tend to stay warm and sweat easily when too warm...

My hands are always cold, I'd like to have this feature. I think the Maxima has it.

This thread makes me think of that adam sandler film - happy gilmore?

little old lady: "my fingers hurt"
male nursing home nurse (adam sandler): "awwww do they? Well now your back is about to hurt because you just pulled landscaping duty"

Maybe this isn't as much common sense as I thought it was ...especially for someone in NY.

heated seats are a bit over the top. By the time it warms up one's hands, the car will already be warmed up by the central heat. I've lived in the NE prior to moving to TX and never really thought about it because it was never an issue.

My 03 Maxima has heated steering wheel, but my 06 TL does not. It is a nice feature in the winter, but the TL's interior heats up pretty fast. Anyway, I usually warm up the car a few minutes during the winter before driving off. So, it is not really that big a deal ... but like I said, it is good to have it nonetheless.

It's like everything else... If you have never had it you wouldn't think you need it. I too thought it was humorous at first yet my 04 Maxima had it and the wife and I both thought it was awesome. Damn thing warmed up near instantaneously. I'd take it in the TL in an instant. If you actually dug up the 04 TL threads stating what we wish the TL had - my two were a folding rear seat and the heated wheel .

Who wants gloves??? If they actually keep your hands warm you sure as heck can't feel the wheel very well wearing them.....

I do wear gloves. Yesterday I forgot my gloves and was wishing the wheel was heated.
