Got a 05 TL last week

Hi guys.

New here. Just bought a TL last week 2005 (43k miles)

A few questions If you could please answer!!!

1) I have been driving it now and it feels a bit unresponsive or late to get into gear/shift whatever. doesnt seem like enough air is getting in. What can I do for this?

2) Is there a aftermarket site?

3) How long do these run before I start having to get it serviced?

4) Just came from a mustang gt and trying to get used to it.

Please give me any advice fellas!

First of all congrates on the purchase!! How much? Color, AT/MT, etc. But coming from a mustang a sports car, to a luxury car can be different but it takes time to get use to this.
They have aftermarket stuff, for instance RONJON motorsports (click on the upper right hand banner) he has body kits, wheels, and accessories. There are some body kits such as the Versus Kit, and some kenstyle or something like that. I for one went with the Aspec kit, simple and just looks good!!
But anyways your car is equiped with a service reminder, it should appear when you need service or reach the equivalent miles. Post some pics bro and welcome the AZ side!!!!!!

But we have some mechanics here that knows the TL from front to back. I for one know very little but i learn alot from this site

Congrats & welcome to AZ.

1) The transmission/ECU on the TL adapts to your driving style. Give it another week. Otherwise, you can re-set the ECU to its original mode. More information can be found in the owner's manual, which is also on-line through the 3G Garage at https://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/...01_OMANUAL.asp
Also, coming from a Mustang GT, you're likely used to more torque earlier in the rev range.

2) You can check the Black Market sub-forum here on AZ for various vendors; there are often vendor links mentioned in posts in the Audio, Bluetooth, etc. and Performance Parts sub-forums.

3) Check the manual- maintenance is based on an actual use + algorithm maintenance minder system that shows messages in the MID.

4) The 2005 manual tranny Mustang GT I tested before the TL was much noisier and rode more harshly than the TL; just a different sort of car. I don't remember if the steering response and feel were better or worse, though. You'll probably find that you're driving much faster on the freeway and wide roads than you thought, since the TL is very smooth and quiet.

Congrats!

Congrats on your new ride!

My fiance has an 04 Mustang GT (40th Anniversary Edition) and he loves driving the TL - hope you enjoy driving it too!
