good drive, but...

The wife and I went on a long drive in North West New Jersey,
295 n to 31, to 46, to 519, to 517 up around High Point, to see the fall colors.
I think it wound up being close to 300 miles, lots of twisty rolling hills, and
in general good driving, we averaged 30 MPG for the entire trip!

I took a stone in the windshield on rt 46 though, and it looks like it might crack
and get bigger, its about 1/8 inch long, but they grow...

Guess the dealer would be the best place to get it replaced....
I have to see what the difference is between them and safelight...

Its pot luck with safelight, you have to watch those guys as they work...

Avoid Safelite. I blame their work several years before I bought my current Infiniti led to the development of a paint bubble along the windshield/roof line that I had to have repaired.

Safelight has an instant quote on their web page, over $700.00 to replace
the windshield!
That is steep!

I had a problem with Safelite may years ago and will not use them again. They replaced the windshield in my '91 Accord when it was about 2 years old. I picked it up and found the tinting in the upper part was a different color. I still accepted the car (stupid!) and on the ride home I noticed waves in the glass when you moved looking through it. I turned around and went back to make them put in Honda glass. They replaced on another day. They had tape covering a scratch they created in the A-pillar. I noticed the next day when I took it off. It was a gouge in the metal. I was discussed with them and didn't want to waste any more of my time with them. I fixed the scratch myself instead of making them do it. The area that I fixed is starting to show signs of rust now twelve years later. Probably better then if they did the repair.

I would insist on Honda/Acura glass no matter where you go. But stay away from Safelite!

If you think that's steep wait till you talk to Acura
Glad you had a good drive though. Good possibility that insurance will replace it free or with your deductible.

If you have glass coverage it shouldn't be a problem having an Acura dealer replace the windsheild. You should be entitled to an OEM replacement.

Sorry to hear that, but sounds like you can get it repaired if you hurry.

If you do get a replacement, make sure it's OEM... aftermarket ones don't have the noise-reducing film (or whatever it's called).

1/8 of an inch. Leave it alone it is probably fine. Insurance claims require more than an 1/8 of an inch.... My god if that is all your are concerned about you got a charmed life....!!!

The way it is with windshields, its 1/8 an inch today, next week its an inch,
the week after that its a foot, etc.

I may see if it can be fixed somehow, if not, its getting new honda glass...
