Steve

i personaly do not like that lease. if you drive more than 25 miles a day its not right for you. you can step into a tl-s with no money down for around 700/month and this is a 60 month finance.

thanks

Well, long term i plan on keeping the car and buying out the lease, unless i really really hate the car

and i am trying to keep the payments as low as possible until i sell the house

Not sure if you're looking for free advice, but I'd say hold off until you're out of the financial crunch, then you'll be able to make decisions with fewer variables/worries (like buying the car instead of leasing). If you must have it now though, just ignore me :-)

what would the residual be, because your total payments 399x42==16,800 plus 5000. totaling around 22000. ask them the residual and then that will tell you if its a good deal.

If you're in a financial crunch why are you considering an automotive purchase?

Not a smart move.

so it seems that all said and done after you purchase it you will have paid around 44,000. i am financing mine and all said and done the payments are gonna total around 40500.

its a decent but not out of the world deal in my opinion, personaly i would just put the 5000 down and out right buy it with payments in the high 5 area

If your old enough to have a mid-life crisis your old enough to realize that your "wants won't kill ya". You are also old enough to wait until you sell the investment property before you buy it. What if the investment property doesn't generate the revenue you projected when you sell it? Would you then be upside down in the TL_S. What about that $5K you put down on it? With a purchase, that money goes back into your pocket when you sell it. With a lease, it's just "pissed into the wind".. For that same $5K down on a 2006 non-Navi, your only looking at financing $23K-$24K and you would OWN it after the same amount of time and NOT have to worry about keeping the miles (ridiculously) low? You still get the TL (you deserve), you stay within your budget and you have no headaches if the investment house turns into a (bad) investment (It can happen).

Steve, I too think IMHO that you should wait till you sell your investment home.

Too little mileage, too much down.
Besides, without sugar-coating it, you are NUTS if you want to do this deal while in a ANY "financial crunch."
IMHO, you deserve a nice car AFTER you get yourself out of the crunch. G/L.

07 TL lease deal

Has anyone been able to get the end of the year lease deal from Acura? Seems like a really good deal, but don't know how many dealers are going with this one straight up. According to the current deals on the website:

2007 TL Special Lease
$369.00 per month for 36 months.
10,000 miles/year
$1,999.00 total due at signing.
based on a cap cost of $31,615.54 (which is ~$270 over invoice)

Subject to limited availability. Through 1/2/2007, to approved lessees by American Honda Finance Corp. Closed end lease for 2007 TL Automatic Transmission vehicles (Model UA6627JW), for well qualified lessees. Not all lessees will qualify. Higher lease rates apply for lessees with lower credit ratings. MSRP $34,295.00 (includes destination) less the suggested dealer contribution resulting in actual net capitalized cost $31,615.54. Dealer contribution may vary and could affect actual lease payment. Taxes, license, title fees, options and insurance extra. Total monthly payments $13,284.00. Option to purchase at lease end $21,262.90. Lessee responsible for maintenance, excessive wear/tear and 15 cents/mi. over 10,000 miles/year for vehicles with MSRP less than $30,000, but for vehicles with MSRP of $30,000 or more, mileage cost is 20 cents/mi. over 10,000 miles/year. See dealer for complete details.

Where's the property, and what are the terms?

I'd likely wait as well - but to answer your question, this sounds like a good deal to me.

Off the top of my head, here's what I did:

2005 6 speed with navi, summer tires, protection package
$8000 down
12k/yr, 42 months
$350/mo. payment

Just make sure there are no hidden fees upfront, and that your money down includes the first month payment (due at lease signing).

I had a trade that was paid off, so that got me $8000 down. My job gives me a $350/mo car allowance, so it all worked out nicely.

I'm blowing thru the miles (25,000 in 13 months), but I don't really care - I'm buying it at the end, and will still have payments around what my car allowance is, if not lower. I'm driving this thing forever!!!

Good luck, and think about it for a week or so before you make a decision that will affect you financially for years to come!

That looks like a pretty good deal - make sure 1st month payment is included. And make sure his payment quote includes the monthly tax.

This isn't pricing for a Type-S though, right?

not sure about the first months payment, but tax is not included & its not for the TL-S, but will haggle at the dealership for the TL-S & may just end up'settling' for the non-s , will check back once I deal....

thanks for the help
