I called Best Window Tinting, requested for Carlos, but he no longer work there. Also the price went up to 190 and 160 is their old price. Also, they no longer carry true grey film. The one they have available are now called solargard supreme film. He told me to go 40%. Now i gotta go do some research on solargard and wht a 40% tint look like.

Yeah you got to ask for Philip or Robert. I actually just posted about the price. Looks like i was the last to get that $160 quote, but hey its only $30. I have a feeling if you talked to Robert you could have talked him into giving you that price.

If you go in they have small samples. but with the oem 70% tint it won't look liek what the samples show. Plus the tint has a lifetime guarantee on it so if theres anything wrong they will correct it, and they are true to their word if you look at my other post. But it sounds like you are more concerned about the looks than the quality so yeah,,,maybe you should research a bit more.

Good luck.

40% will be kinda light. search around for some posts and you will find. it. if you look for threads i created i have 20% and it is just about right i would not mind slighty darker.

I'm from CA, and think anything below 35% is illegal, right? Also i don't want a damn stupid fixing ticket. Anyway, the 35% is what i want and it look pretty good on a black on black car.

Best no longer does the 35%. I don't mind solar gard supreme. Read about them, but Best only offers 40% and that might look too light. Does anybody have a 40% to a 35% comparison? If it's not a big difference then i will just go for it.

Here a 35% on black

You can put any percentage of tint on the back windows including rear window but it is ILLEGAL to have anything on the driver's/passenger window up front and windshield. Hope this kinda clears things up. IMO, I'd go with the 35% because I would think cops would rarely ever pull people over with 35%. 20% is just too noticeable and can sometimes make the car look real tacky..IMO.

best tinting is in Tustin, CA lol. it's a shame for new tl owners that carlos is no longer there. he did a great job on my black/black for 160$ about 2 months ago w/moleskin. when i went in they were pushing the new 40% but i got them to put on the old stuff at 35/25. you can barely tell it's different front to back.

yea, the tl stock tint is like 70% or so...so when you get any tint put on it's going to be a little darker than what you see on the test block which is kinda cool. also, u have a black interior which wil my tint looks pretty dark, it's def darker than my roommates g35 which also has 35% on the fronts but barely any/no stock tint.

My fault . The other thread I posted was intended to ask about tint removal. I merely incoroprated Best as a sidenote but elaborated when someone asked about it.

This guy who i talked to wasn't sure if they will do the 35% or not and they have enough for the 4 windows. The back window they will have to use the 40% solar gard??????? Anyway, i told them no thank you and hung up.
