Getting my Transmission Replaced on 6MT

Well, I first posted on how my car was popping out of second gear, well the problem continued to get worse and worse. Occosionally I would be taking a corner and almost lose it becuase I'd have no second gear. So I finally took it in on Monday, they gave me an 02 TL3.2 as a loaner. The whole trans will be finished installing on Thursday. I hope that these trannies aren't crap like the pervious gen. FYI my car has 9000 miles, it this the first case of a trannie replacement on a MT6?

I hope they do a good job of getting everything back in. I'm no professional, but I helped a friend replace the gearbox in his Hyundai and we ended up with a few extra bolts and such.

Let us know how the replacement tranny works.

manual trannys are not as complicated as auto tranny's to rebuild. but if they are replacing it, then i dun see any complications as it will be just swapping out one for the the other. there have not been any problems with honda manual tranny's in the previous gen TL's. the problem with the 2nd gen cars were for auto tranny's only. in mostly the type-s versions the autotranny could not handle the horsepower.

Exactly. Plus it would be a little hard to believe that the 2nd gen had a problem w/ the manual, considering it was an auto-only model...

2004MT6, hope that everything goes well with your car, and the swap happens w/o a hitch. Best of luck...

Sorry, your not the first, there was at least one back in Nov/Dec, and a bunch of others that had the gear poping out issue.

Supposedly it was a gear problem (not the right diameter) and they missed a few out the door.

Good luck!
