Genuine ACURA paint???

I was looking online and could not find a site where I could get genuine anthracite paint and clear coat for my 2004 TL.

Yes...a stinking quarry truck threw a stone yesterday and put a nice chip in my newly waxed hood! UGH!

Anyway, I was going to go to pep boys but thought those other paint brands would not match as well as genuine acura...if I can get it.

Any ideas?

Did you try the dealership? They have OEM touch up paint (not clear coat though, that could be purchased anywhere).

For some reason, only the Euro brands include clear with the touch up paint kit.

Thanks! I just ordered from them,

Confusing though why I can pick Anthracite paint but then they need a code (11th digit of my VIN) to make sure it's an exact match. Are there different types of anthracite or something? They claim to be better than dealers because dealers don't take this last step and sell general "anthracite" paint.

I would guess Acura has a several colors/shades and using the paint code just ensures they give you the right color for the right car.

Going through a TOTAL rebirth. About 12 news bars/restaurants being built downtown to try to revitalize it.

I tried paintscratch for my ABP. I have to say it is a bit dark. So I got the dealer's paint and it seems to be a better match. Paintscratch does have lots of other supplies (clear coat, primer, lacquer thinner) that may still be of interest to you. Between the stuff I got from paintscratch and the bottle from the dealer I will be able to handle anything.

I'd get the paint from the dealer and pick up a clear coat pen, or bottle/brush, from anywhere else.

There is also a product called Langka (used with the above paint) that may be interesting. It got good reviews but I haven't used it myself.

WOW! Soon folks from King of Prussia will be hanging out there. I still remember the old steel mill if that was it was that was on one side. I can't image that place ever changing.

I bought the pen touch up from paintscratch for my old RSX-S. It mathces the paint perfectly. It's better using the paintbrush they give you at the dealership.

Please conduct a search here and you'll find a couple of very helpful threads. For those of you that are very anal about fixing scratches, there's some very elaborate details in painstakingly fixing these annoyances. I do remember some advice:

Glueing a tiny piece of sandpaper to the eraser top of a pencil. Using a toothpick instead of the brush the touch up paint comes with. Painting in many thin layers instead of "gobbing it on".

I got the genuine Acura touchup paint, but it really doesn't match due to the metallic content in the paint. I'ts almost impossible to get the right mix, and then touchup paint doesn't have clearcoat. If the chip really bothers you that much, have a good body shop fix it. It probably won't cost more than $100 or so and they will be able to spray the paint to match better than any touchup paint could ever do. Good Luck.

acura paint

I got a bottle of acura touch up paint for my silver 04 TL for $6 at the dealership. Gotta get clear coat somewhere else though, I think.
