Question Gas consumption question.

Hello everyone, first off i want to say whats up to everyone here. I am new to the Acura TL. I just got myself a 04 tl with navi . I am just curious about the gas consumption and how much are you getting out of your car. I mean with 43 litres looks like the car will only do about 300km on the tank , city driving, and this is like slow acceleration, cruise when i can ect.. Any input would be good. Just wondering if there is something wrong somwhere, maybe fuel filter ect...

Depends on your driving style! When I drive it, I can get 25 mpg city, my wife gets 19! Gee, who in the family has the lead foot?

We just got our two weeks ago, and just filled it up a second time on Saturday. My wife dives it daily, I just get to drive it on weekends. She did mention that the needle seems to drop pretty fast for the first half of tank and slows a it once it gets past the half tank mark. This is just the opposite of my truck. It seems the needle dives toward the empty mark twice as fast as it takes to get to the half tank mark when full.

picked up my tl a month ago, ive also been playing around with the gas milage.
from a fill (65 liters) till the fuel light goes on, i get about 375-400 km. after that
i drove it for another 100 clicks at least. Still only took 55 liters to fill, so in essence there was still another 10 liters in there.
just my 2 cents.

hmm i dont think mine would do that. and i drive realy slow and roll stop ect.. just trying to test it out. What could be a possible problem. I did look at the air filter and it was very dusty and full of dirt and bugs.. Is that a major role. what else could be a problem.

What is on the computer display? I am getting 12 l/100km not being careful at all. 6M thou.

Clogged filter can deteriorate your performance but it won’t change consumption, but clogged injectors would do both. Pour some injector cleaner into your tank.

Fill it up, take it for a ~200 km freeway trip using the cruise control at the speed limit, then refill it and check the mileage. You should get around 30 mpg or 7.8l/100km.
Short trips really kill the mileage in these cars.

sorry for the late reply - well i havint taken it on the highway yet to test it out-- but i am very very carefull- like slow as hell rolling stop ect.. and my computer display is showing me 15L/100km. which is a little high. i might need to put in some injector cleaner - and new spark plugs. that should help a bit.. i will also try different gas brands - i dont think esso is that great.. seems shitty.. im goin to try sunoco on my next fill up . and then shell on the next..
