Is this gap normal??!?!?!

Hey guys

I probaby sound a little paranoid but today I was polishing my new TL (had to get her ready for the harsh chicago winter) and I noticed something which has me concerned. On the drives side where the 2 door panels meet in the middle towards the bottom of the car there is a gap about 1/4 inch wide where the bottom lip panels meet, however, on the passenger side of the car there is no space between these 2 pieces and they are right up against each other....

Is this gap on the drivers side normal or not and if not, should I complain to the dealer???

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance!!!

The fit and finish on the American built cars is not the best. It is not uncommon for there to be variations in the gap. I have seen the rocker panel pop out and with some gentle pressure can be pooped back in.

Dude thats normal because the side under body panels are 2 piece not 1 piece
whether or not you have the a-spec body kit or not the lower side panels on the acura TL are 2-piece...i believe the ron jon kit is only 1 piece but other wise thats noremal

Yeah thats normal for the two piece like we have... A-Spec body kit has two pieces as well.... I think its so they can 'flex' a little or something like that...

The gap in the under body panel is normal if that is what your talking about. However, the gap should be in-line with the door gap thus flowing all the way down. It also should be near equal of a gap on both sides of the car (same place). Thus if the passenger side doesn't have a gap then that would most likely be the side you should be questioning. Look at the overall fit on either end by the wheel wells - does it look like one is forward or aft too much thus closing the center gap..?

Let us know

thanks for the replies guys

As far as the gap goes, although the passenger side has no gap I cannot notice any difference in the alignment of that panel towards the front of the car or the rear of the car when compared to the drivers side with the gap.... oh well not a big deal maybe I am just being too picky
