Oh boy I used to be able to just turn on my fog lights when I had my Mach 1 mustang, and I thought it was a mean look in the early night before I needed my headlights. Might be a little technical for my blood but might have to give it a try.

Haha....yea I wired my 95 GT mustang to do the same and my 01 Cobra done it stock. The best part about this mod is that you dont even have to turn on your parking lights. Youtube has a clip of one of our Azine members rolling down the highway with just his fogs....def a nice video clip.

Yeah I do have the DRL error code not because of this mod but due to the DrLs I bought. There LED bulbs from ijdmtoy ...came with the harnesses and everything. If you use the stock harness there won't be a DRL indicator but you only get 50% output from the LED bulbs. To get the total 100% output ....the harness included in the package needs to be used as well, but the DRL indicator is present.

ok i found it on google and i tried to paste the picture in but it didnt work so i just put the link to the picture here
The red wire with the grey plug is another ground on my harness. the white wire on my harness doesnt have a plug, its just got a metal u on it.... idk if that helps. does it go to a fuse or something? or is it a remote wire?

I seen your sig says that you have an 05 TL. This is for 07-08 TL's. Try the like below. Roger555 wrote up a killer DIY for 04-06 TL owners to do the same.

If you were only replacing the foglight bulbs, then you would not have to remove the front bumper. With the HID kit, you have to find a place to mount each ballast, and run all the wires from the H8 HID relay harness also. Taking the bumper off is pretty easy and makes the job, waaaaaaaaaaaay easier. Search youtube or check out our 3G garage section and there is a video on how to remove an Acura TL front bumper!

For normal bulbs you just pop off 2-3 clips with a flat tip screwdriver and 1 phillips head screw in each wheel well. Then turn the steering wheel left or right and pull back the plastic from the wheel well. You will need a short "stubby" phillips screwdriver. I have a set of Hoen Endurance that are extremely yellow in color. I can def recommend Hoen Endurance for a great bulb with a yellow color at all angles.

Special thanks to donnieb83 on this write-up and quick response to any PM sent with questions. I followed this step by step and it worked FLAWLESSLY. I can't believe how much of a difference this makes for such an easy and cheap DIY. It is bad ass. I will post up pics later, but for anyone questioning what to get, this is what I purchased.
1. Any HID relay harness, I ended up purchasing one from a local shop or you can get one on ebay/amazon etc. It doesn't so much matter what version you get, because you end up cutting off the connector to splice into the fuse panel and wire in steering column.
2. DDM Tuning 35 Watt SLIM 5000K HID Kit. http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DD...ast-35W-or-55W
3. V-LED's 9005 5000K DRL Kit (the kit worked GREAT, I have no errors and the lights are BRIGHT) http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/D...-p9087942.html
4. Mini Add-A-Fuse or Add-A-Circuit from Pep Boys or AutoZone. Make sure you get a MINI.
5. 3M VHB double sided tape. I ended up finding this at a hardware store but it is hard to find over the counter. This stuff is SUPER strong and MUCH better than the standard 3M double sided tape. I used this to mount my HID ballasts and one of my V-LED Resistor plates. I recommend buying this.
That is about it. I chose to solder all my connections, but i'm sure standard t-taps will work as well from any radioshack or pepboys/autozone. The install was NOT difficult at all and I did it alone. I'm pretty good with DIY, but from start to finish, including taking the bumper off and putting it back on took me a total of about 4 hours. I took my time, had lunch and did NOT rush at all. I tested everything along the way and made sure all my wires were run correctly etc.
I would plan a full morning or afternoon for this install. I couldn't be happier with the outcome and will post pics of install this week. If anyone has questions about the install do not hesitate to reach out to me as well.

Hey guys Im having a little trouble with this DIY... I bought a Relay but its a little different from the one on this thread. Well the only difference i see is that My Relay has ground at each connection to the fog lights instead of coming out of the relay it self. As well as instead of blue and black wires coming out of the main connector it has White, Black, and Blue, It looks like the connector to a 9004 bulb which has both high and low beams on it. Anyways here is a picture of my relay. The problem im having is at the Blue connector. Im not sure what connects to what. I know one end goes to the blue/white wire at the fog-light switch connector and the other goes to the fuse #11 at the kick panel. If someone could help I would really appreciate it. I changed my Headlight HID Bulbs this weekend and while I had the bumper off I figured I would do this DIY but I tried and kinda got confused on what to do so I just put the bumper back on and didn't completed the DIY.

Yep, by following this step by step you will have full functionality of your fogs by using the switch on your factory stalk next to the steering wheel. It allows you to have your fogs on at all times, independent of your DRL/lowbeams/highbeams etc.

The thing I wish I had with this DIY is the use of the factory Light in the instrument panel that tells me that the Fogs are on. Since I keep the switch on all the time my lights stay on all the time. I would like some type of reminder and that would be great to have the light come on as well.

Yes you control your fog lights anytime that you want, as long as the car is in the "on" position. If you want to turn them off, you use the oem switch to turn them off.
To answer your other question, if you tapped into the parking lights, the when you lock/unlock your TL with your FOB the HID foglights will flash also. This flash and sudden burst of power to the HID bulbs will cause them to burn out prematurely.
There are a few members here that have installed HID lights into their reverse lights but installed them on a "timer" in their automatic transmission TL. The "timer" allows the backup HID light only to turn on when the vehicle is in reverse for a couple seconds to assist in HID bulbs not burning out prematurely. They did this because without the "timer", when going from "Park" to "Drive" this would give the HID backup lights a suddent burst of power when going through "Reverse."

I havent got the 3g type s yet but I plan on gettin it in january when I get back from Afghanistan. This is the first mod I plan to do. My question is would i be able to use a ballast from HIDextra.com? If so how would i be able to do the mod with it? How would i do step 9?
