Frozen Washer Jets Anyone?

Just returned from a drive to Chicago for X-Mas & found that the washer jets froze up on me during the drive up from Atlanta. Yes, the temp was freezing (around 15-22F), but the washer fluid was still liquid. The road slush was everywhere, the nozzels were not clogged that I could see. They started working after the temp went back up. Any cold weather drivers having the same problems? And if so, how to fix it. Nozzels are protected, but looks like they could get clogged on the downswing of the wipers.

Use winter washer fluid, good to -30 or -40. It's pretty common at gas stations. I've never had my washer jets freeze up.

I can understand the problem if you bought the washer fluid in GA. I visited NY from FL one Xmas and discovered the -25F washer fluid sold in FL is nothing more than blue soapy water. It worked fine in FL, but the washer nozzles did not work anywhere north of the Mason-Dixon Line for the entire trip.

I have no issues with the TL in CT, using the -25F fluid sold everywhere here.

FYI:

I was in VT on the real cold day before Christmas.

Washer totally blew!!

Not sure if it was because of frozen water or something else.

The fix:

Open hood for fuse box under hood. Get fuse puller. Get 7.5 fuse that is in there - spare.

Open fuse box inside car. Pull out number 20 fuse. Put in spare fuse.

It works.

Thought I'd pass it by if anyone else runs into this.
