Front License Plate Bracket

Great Forum here gang! I'm glad I found you. Just bought a Non-Navi '04 and have a question thats eating at me.

Has anyone out there removed your front bracket (whether or not it's legal in your area) and found the plugs that go in the holes? My dealer tells me he'll have to look into it.

This car looks fantastic from many angles, particulary the front...That bracket has to go.

Thanks for a great spot !!

Jim

Check if the plug covers are in your glove box. If not, definitely ask dealer to give you ones. Mine does not have the bracket installed, and the bracket was put inside the trunk for me to put it on later.

Ditto this. Plus, check in the center console area or in the trunk where the cargo net is stored. Perhaps the dealer put the plugs in a plastic bag in this area.

If not, like the chap above said, ask the dealer for them.

I took the front bracket off myself and wasn't able to find them either. When I called the dealer, they told me that they threw them away. But my salesperson was able to save a pair from the next Antracite TL that they sold. I wanted to make sure that I got all the parts for the $30K car that I was entitled to.

And the car looks so much better without the front plates. Now I just need to worry about getting a clear bra b/c alot more bugs are on the paint rather than the front plates.

jimr,

I'd appreciate if you could check our Garage or search your next topic.

I would try a Home Depot or a Lowe's in their "Hardware" aisle.....they would almost have to have something which would meet your specs.

Your dealer is a dumb ass, they shoudl have put them in your console or glove box, thats where my dealer put mine.

from Texas

Being that Texas requires front lic plates, all Texas dealers must deliver car with front tags. That being said, they usually throw away the plug. I had to remind the dealer to save the plug.

I looked around hardware stored and didn't find anything I liked, so I polished the stock ones. Yeah, I guess that's nuts! But it did come out looking nice with a simple black frame.
