Front Bumper Plugs (Good Alternative?)
I was looking into a way to cover up the screw holes for the front license plate holder (since I don't need one in PA), without spending $30-40 on the Acura ones. Of course they would look the best, but I decided to spend $3 and buy some screw cap covers for license plates. I just used a screw to attach the clear plastic cap holder, then placed the cap over it. It fits pretty good, and sticks out a little from the bumper, but overall I like the fit. I need to buy some touchup paint from the dealer, and will paint them before putting them on.
Do you think this look stupid/tacky (pardon the feet LOL)? I think especially for $3 it looks pretty good, or is it better to just not do it at all. I would rather spend $30 toward a more 'useful' mod.

IMO i would spend the $30.... atleast that way ur getting an exact matching color plug (figuring they come in paint matched colors) and it'll be flush with the bumper like the tow hook cover instead of sticking out, plus i think you'll lose those caps going through a car wash or something.

Maybe I'll give my salesman a call on Monday to see if he could get some from the parts dept or maybe the garage, since this dealer always installs the front bracket and puts a plate with their name on it, so I bet they would have some lying around...maybe they even took them off my car and still have them in a drawer or something...lol.

I would think they could spare giving me a $30 item since they will be making some good money off my trade...I got 11K for it, and they are advertising it for almost 14K! Of course in this market who knows what they will get for it, but still...

People in the past have gotten them from veneerzstore.com, but I called their number, and it was disconnected so I don't trust I would even get the product even though the website is still up.

Good luck with getting them for free from the dealer!
I didn't get anywhere with the dealer on this. They were a$$holes about it. It was when I was back for my first oil change. They just looked at me and said "Why, are you going to take your front plate off?". I said "It's part of the car I bought from you so that doesn't matter." Never got anywhere with them. Since then I only go in for warranty stuff so they pretty much hate me (but won't admit it)
What's really curious why those suckers are so expensive compared to much more substantial parts of the car.
Oh, an OP I I think if you matched the color those wouldn't be so bad. The OE would be better but I could live with those if they matched.

Thanks adobeman....cool script on the radio display. Even though I took off the 'dealer advertising' on the front bumper, I at least still have the rear license frame with their name on it, so at least they can't be too 'upset' lol. I am going to leave a message today with my salesman to see if he can get me a couple plugs. Plus I do want to go in an buy the touchup paint, so we'll see.

Those will look fine once you color match them. I got mine for my old IS300 from here:

I think they were like $25 but they looked great. As long as you prepped and painted them right they would probably look exactly the same as the ones I bought. I like that company though because it's here in Charlotte.

My salesman found some plugs in the glove box of another AM they were selling, and I picked them up tonight. I mentioned that I was planning to buy some touchup paint, and he went into the detailing area, and gave me a bottle (it was not a full bottle, but it saved me $10
) They look so much better than my idea would have...LOL
Hopefully the service dept is as nice/generous when/if I need to bring it in for any warranty repairs.

PSULou3, we both use the same dealer (Rahal). When I called my saleslady last week, she told me they cost $30 and they had none to give me. She did offer to keep an eye out for them.
Then, I found a set (71146-SEP-A00ZF PLUG, FR. BUMPER 2 $11.19 $22.38) from SHOWCASE HONDA where other folks may want to purchase from.
Before I order, I want to know if RonJonTL757 can hook a brutha up with some Anthracite Metallic plugs???
