Are you looking on the dashboard or the center console?

hahahaha you can't be serious, there is no way someone can confuse the center console temp for the outside temp. i mean it has a temperature for the driver and passenger so it would be just foolish to think that either one represents the outside temp.

Why don't you try a little trouble-shooting, like disocnnecting & reconnecting the battery? Pull out the fuse? I mean, come on, you're a guy - use your common sense; if it's stuck on 77, the first thing that would come to my mind is "it's frozen - I'll have to restart it somehow." It may or may not work, but it's worth a try.

Let's put off the bitching and moaning until it becomes a problem without a solution.

Now as bad as it is, I hope the problem is really the outside temperature thermometer. It would suck to have made this big of a fool of yourself.

Yep. I guess the first diagnostic question should be:

If you press the down arrow (blue) on the left of the center console until it reads 32 and you step outside the vehicle, does it feel really cold outside?

I park my car in a underground garage sometimes and it's really cool down there. When I went to my car yesterday and started the engine, the temp was showing 68. It didn't change to the correct temp until driving on the freeway at about 50mph for a while.
I think I read somewhere that sometimes you need to drive on the freeway for a while for the temp to change to the correct temp.

If only I had known that was all I had to do, we wouldn't be having these 100 degree days...

6mtV6 is right, have you been driving a while? Mine changes a good bit between work and home...the longer you drive, the more accurate it gets. If it stays on 77 forever, do what ndx2 said, pull the fuse, then try the battery. If that doesn't work, go to the dealer.

the temp sensor is behind the front grill, open the hood and you'll see it

part #2 is the sensor

sensor takes some time to read correct temperature. I park my car underground heated parking and when I leave the garage door, temperature doesnt' show proper reading for another five to fifteen minutes.

If you could give a reference I would appreciate it because I have never been able to find it in the owner's manual.

But you can go to the 3G Garage and get the procedure there.
