So my friend calls me today and tells me that he just picked up a brand new 2008 Is350 with F package. I have no idea how he managed to find a brand new 08 is350 when the 2010 is coming out sometime next month. Supposely the dealer had one sitting on the showroom. Now he's rubbing it on my face that he has a faster and much more luxurious car than i do (my 08 TL-s). I would argue that my car is cheaper but he got a bargain deal for his 08 with F pkg for 34K. I guess the only thing i can say is that my TL-S looks sexier than his tiny is350. lol are there anything that our TL-S has that's not on is350. is350 pretty much has everything and more than our TL-S pertaining to engine hp, tech and etc.

 

well all you can say is congrats to him..and make sure he made his car payment on time...lol

 

Go buy an IS-F and rub it in his face.

Or you could just ignore him. Or brag about our functional back seats, as opposed to the IS350's non-existent ones.

(1) The IS looks like a chick car, F package or not.
(2) It doesn't have MT although I'm guessing you might be an auto too.
(3) Hope he's not smart enough to get snow tires and wait for his call begging you to come bail him out in a few months.

There's one thing the 07-08 TL-S has that the IS350 doesn't. That's exclusivity. I don't know about where you live, but here in LA, IS350s are about as common as Civics. Every other college girl with a rich daddy drives one. You'd be lucky to spot one TL-S in a week, however.

And the IS350 is in no way, shape or form more luxurious than a TL-S. Trust me on this. I own an 08 TL-S and drove an 08 IS-F on a race track for a day. (Of course, I'd take an IS-F any day of the week over my car, but it's twice as expensive.)

How about.... who cares? I think the IS350 looks decent, and I like the interior but its so boring to drive its not even funny. Like someone said, if he really is your friend, congratulate him. Why worry about someone having a nicer car than you.... because at the end of the day, there's always going to be tons of people out there with faster, nicer, or newer cars. Or hell, all of the above. We all know there's some 18 year old out there driving a new 911 because mommy and daddy paid for it. Who cares. This was something I was so hung up about in high school, but now, it doesn't even matter to me.

Does the IS350 have navi package? Seems really low 34k for a brand new IS. The Lexus is probably better than the TLS in every category, but it is just too damn small.
