Free Gas!

I thought that would get your attention.

Anyway not really free gas, but something interesting I noticed when driving home tonight. I was on the highway and decided to let the Navi guide me home, after the routes and miles were computed, and I made a note of my miles to empty.

miles till destination: 20
miles to Empty: 90

as I am driving I notice my miles to empty was going up. and by the time I got home my miles to emply actually went up to 102, after 20 miles of driving. I did drive VERY conseratively, driving the @ or under speed limit when possible, and coasting whenever I could, I also used cruise control when possible. I avoided quick accelerations as well. I guess conservative driving does save gas.

lol you fooled me. I thought it was another spammer.

But you're right, and this proves to those who don't believe it that the MID is pretty accurate and is constantly computing your miles remaining, or range as they say in the 2005TL.

Now that I think of it, does your MID actually say miles to empty? That's what the MID says for the 2004 TL, but I thought the 2005 TL changed that to range.

yep it actually says "range". I used "miles to empty" to avoid any confusion.

Yeap very true and I have experienced it few many times...I mostly have my MID on miles to empty..and I am out of town every weekend so after my city driving during the week when I get on the highway I keep on seeing my miles to empty going up or staying constant even after driving for a while...

I have actually made a trip to Richmond (160 miles) while my MID said 110 miles to empty and still had 15 miles left to empty when I reached there but I was on the phone most of the time so had the car on cruise @ 70-75 mph...
