Angry Freakin valet.......

backed up into my car as I was standing there watching. Oh well, $h!t happens. At least now I can get the A-Spec underbody kit installled with my new front bumper courtesy the valet company.

Does anyone in the Palm Beach area have a body shop that they can recommend to me? TIA

Sorry to hear about the damage.

It must have been hard to watch.

Have an Audi TT that needed front bumper repair/repainting a while back and European Auto Repair, on Church St (off Okeechobee Blvd) did an excellent job.

BTW...what color combo do you have? WDP/Parchment here in Hobe Sound and it gets to PBC daily as I work off Blue Heron. If I see ya, I'll wave

ummm did he take responsibility, or did he try to deny it, saying some crap like "I didn't hit that car", or "It was already like that"

Most valets now-a-days have signs up stating they are not repsonsible for damages...

Hmmmmm. I think I will make myself a sign that says I am not responsible for strangling irresponsible people who cannot comprehend consequence for their own actions (and often inactions).

Yep, that should take care of it.... I've won immunity!

Gotta go & get busy, I have a VERY long list of people to strangle....

Which are designed for people like you.

They are not real releases of liability. They are liable if they have your keys and are driving your car.

No, they are designed for people who are trying to abuse the system. Now I'm not saying that Doc is trying to abuse the system, I'm just saying, valet companies are usually good at removing themselves from liability. If he actually witnessed the valet doing it, they would probably take care of it.

Thanks, I'll give them a call. I'm usually not up in the WPB area too much, but my TL is Anthracite/Quartz with the e-bay lip spoiler.

He took responsibility because he had no choice. I was running to my car as soon I saw him start to back up before he hit my car. Believe me, no one was getting away with what they had done. If it was my NSX, I'd probably have pulled him out through the window by his hair. But then I'd probably still be in jail for homicide.

Those words are worth as much as the paper that they are written on. I used to valet and there were always some idiots damaging cars. There's a reason why they have insurance. I sincerely hope that you don't believe everything you read.

Actually, I'm going to abuse the system. I'm going to have my attorney handle the situation. Whatever my attorney feels like charging is fine with me as the valet company will end up paying for his fees. And, considering that three other people and myself saw the incident happen, I have a good chance of getting my car repaired to my satisfaction. As a last resort, since the idiot who owns the valet company has the business registered at his home, I can always place a lein on his house for the amount equal to the damage to my car.

On July 4, barely a week after getting my car, I had to valet park by the beach since there was no parking. When I come back to my car, I see those fuckers leaning on my car. I couldn't believe my eyes. Fortunately there were no scratches but there was no tip given either.

It sucks that people can be so careless.

Yet another reason why I refuse to valet park unless I have to.

Good news.....

I finally spoke to the owner of the valet company and he wants me to take the car to a few places of my choice for estimates. He even suggested the dealership but I told him I that my intention was not to rip him off. So, now I just have to find the time to get my car looked at which is more of an inconvenience than having it damaged.

I don't believe everything I read, However by a valet having that sign up, it can legally remove them from blame in a lot of situations. Since you witnessed them damaging your car, and have other witnesses to verify, they can't really stand by that claim. I'm glad they owned up to it though!

Kudos to the owner of the valet company for taking responsibility! And Kudos to you for not wanting to rip him off! Good luck with the ride!
