Foglight bulb opinion, please and thank you...

Good morning fellow TL owners of whom I value opinions by
I'm finally going to replace my pathetic factory foglight bulbs as one blew out. My choices are narrowed down to:
Hoen H8 Endurance bulb 35w in yellow or white
or
Lumen LED H8 bulb.
Both are comparable in price. which one should I get?
Want opinions before I pull the trigger.
Thank you much.
Btw, this is going to be bulb replacement only, no harness upgrades, etc.

LEDs would only be for looks. You won't be able to tell if they're on unless you check the dash light or see a reflection of the front of your car. That was my experience at least. Just run HIDs. And if not, go with the Hoen

And btw, performance parts and modifications section is for performance modifications.

Thanks for the reply. I'll go with the Hoen if they're good. I didn't know what section to post this is in. Sorry.

No need to apologize. You're new and you're learning. Update this thread with pictures when you install your new fogs

My HID set is plug and play. Not running a harness and they are working fine with no flicker.

And install was only about 5 mins each side through the wheel well.

I just installed PIAA H8 yellows yesterday. Even with them being yellow, they still give off a lot more light than the stock ones did. I got them for $60, so it's only 18 bucks more than the Hoen Endurance.

Where did you get them for $60?
I like PIAA because it's a good quality well known name and don't want to be replacing them in a month. thanks

If the factory bulb is 35w putting in another 35w bulb wont make it brighter. It will only change the color.

I have Hoens in yellow. Had them for over a year now. I'm starting to think about getting something brighter and I want to be able to control my fog lights independently so I'm starting to consider getting HIDs for the fogs.

My problem is I don't know if I want to change it up and go to 5k white for fogs or just stick to yellow and blend in with the rest of the "JDM" "EURO" crowd... Might go for 5k white. Something different and out of the norm.

I know, maybe the yellow colour shows up better so it just seems brighter. I can certainly see more in the rain. I'll take some pics soon.

I found them on eBay.

A lot of opinions here. I think I"m just going to stick to the white. I was looking at the PIAA 55w extreme whites...... I don't know what the hell to do, lol. Too many damn choices.....

Nokya and Hoen are less expensive alternatives compared to PIAA's. They also come in white or yellow

From what I've seen on these boards, it seems that Nokya's could fail in a couple of months, while the Hoen's are better built.

Hey OP,

I purchased the Lumen LED's in white about 5months ago and I've had no problems what so ever. Just like someone else said, just a simple 5min install each side from the fender well. I too couldnt stand the "dull yellow" factory bulbs below the beautiful headlight HID's, just didnt look right too me either. Now they match up perfectly - I believe the Lumens are 5500k in white

The only problem with LEDs is that they don't provide any actual light output. Yeah they look nice from the front, but they won't light up anything on the road. And if they do, it will be super super faint and barely noticeable.

Here's what the 2500k Piaa's look like on the 3G.

I like the way that depending on where you are, the fog lights look yellow with a tinge of blue/purple. The output is purplish on the bottom, yellow in the middle and bluish at the top so they seem to blend in with the headlights a bit towards the top

Thanks for the photos. Any chance you have one from like 20 feet away (to see how the car would look like while driving)?

You can get a decent hid kit that's plug and play and it will be a lot better for light output. Or just use another halogen. Like mentioned already, led will be strictly for looks but no light output will be had.

I've been searching all damn night to find install pics of HID fogs in a 3G type-s to no avail. I run HID's in all my other rigs and will be ordering up a set for the fogs from DDM?

Where is everybody installing the ballasts? I haven't pulled any fenders or bumpers off yet to see what room i have/don't have? But will be doing the 3 tranny pressure sensors and 3x3 flush so will doing the fogs in a couple weeks. Wanna have my ducks in a row!

Appreciate the info.........
