Question Fog Light Upgrade

I know there are several entries on this so I wanted to get an overall opinion. I have a 2008 TL, stock fogs. Which I cant stand. The vehicle is a lease so no major HID conversion. I have seen ads for 9006's, artic whites, etc.

My understanding is that these bulbs will just swap out withthe stock ones and operate at same wattage but give a comparable light to an HID.

That being the case I want the brightest I can get, but I would like a bit of a blue tint.

What do you guys suggest?

I have an '06 so it's a little different, but I put the amber HIDs in mine. Looks pretty mean and wasn't a terribly hard install. I would say you want something around 8000K if you want bright with a blue tint but not so blue that it takes away from the function. As for brands, there are so many that I can't keep track anymore. In general, as with most things, you get what you pay for, but I've had good luck with my eBay Special so far.

You will not get HID brightness without a conversion. What you can get is a color similar to the HID headlights.

And the 2007 & 2008 are H8, NOT 9006.

If you buy the 9006 for 2007/2008 Fogs, you'll be selling them, giving them away or returning because they don't fit.

They (the H8's) are a straight swap and you can return to the stockers real easy if you want/need to.

Search "Nokya Arctic White" for MANY pics of that bulb in the 2007/2008 TL. You can also look for Hoen, PIAA, etc.

Believe us........we would not steer you wrong!!

I did MTEC Super White 4350K Fog Bulbs in size H8 (Ebay for $22.95 + shipping)

These are VERY VERY close to HID. I love mine!!

TAKE A LOOK FOR YOURSELF!!!!

1st, Sylvania is NOT the manufacturer of your car. Acura/Honda is.

The problem with the Sylvania chart is it is the "source" almost everyone else uses. So that error is propogated into dozens (if not hundreds) of fitment guides.

My Owner's Manual says the same as yours. It is an error. It is my guess that this error in the Owner's Manual (or in other Acura tech documents) led to the error in the Sylvania replacement guide.

Who know's why. Maybe Acura changed their mind at the last minute and forgot to get the fix into the Owners Manual. Maybe the tech writer for that section reference the wrong Acura model or year. Could be a million dumb ass reasons.

But the fact remains: For 2007/2008 fogs H8 fits; 9006 does not fit.

Anyways, I bought these "Nokya Arctic White Pro Halogen 7000k H8" bulbs off of ebay for something like 15 bucks shipped. Couldnt be happier with the look. They match the HID's very well, no more pee yellow fog lamps. I replaced the driver bulb in the pics to show the difference.

I appreciate the help everyone.

It is definitely obvious that this is the place to come for knowledge on my ride.

I will post some pics after the fog light switch.

PS- this might be a dumb question, but is there anyway to get your fog light and the side marker lights to work w/o running ur HIDs? or do you HAVE to have them on? i guess i was wondering if i could just have my regular day lights on and have the fog lights on at the same time?
