FML. Deeply scratched door and side sill.

Tore up my driver's rear side sill and door on a *&#!^$@ metal stake in a shitty old dirt driveway tonight. Will have to replace part no. 71950-SEP-A01ZE for $115 from delray.

That said, the door took a beating too. I'll have to live with it because I certainly don't have...$6-7-800 to repair this door (?)

Here's a pic. Replacing the side sill should "hide" the scratch a little bit, but not enough for ME. Good night.

You know lucky enough the car is silver. There is a possibility that a detailer with some skills could buff that area and hide, not correct, a lot of the longer part of that scratch. It won't go away but because of the door angle it wouldn't be near as noticable.

The thing to do is use a touch up on the deeper black area and wet sand the touch up smooth then use a buffer and a cutting pad to knock the sharper edges of the scratch down and polish them to a more U shape than a V shaped scratch.

Like I said it won't be gone but will be less noticable. You also have some other marks on that door he could deal with at the same time.

Just a thought.

VERY fun road to drive on. Gotta plan it out right though when there's no West Point traffic or a gang of motorcyclists. Don't wanna hurt anyone while I'm doing that.

I was in the same boat, it actually happened as I was about to leave, they were towing it in on a flat bed. I basically ran after it in the parking lot lol

the scratched can be buffed...silver kind of hides it in the sun if its done right... the bottom of the door needs to be repaired but if you cant do that for now just touch it up

Ouchy. I'd really try hard to save up and have the door repainted or something. You'll sleep better at night.

I did almost the same damn thing to my car last year. Luckily, the damage was only on the side skirts (both front and rear). And unbelievably, the dealership was the cheapest place I found to fix it. Check your dealer, b.c I thought it was better to get something from the factory, already matched perfectly than pay MORE for the piece, and then for them to paint it.
